| Couldn't agree more. What a faux pas by the Multnomah County GOP. Have a gun raffle by all means, but not by selling it as a homage to MLK & Lincoln. We hold onto our gun rights in Oregon by a hairs breath, it will only take a couple of more seats in Salem to go blue, and we'll be truly f**ked - like California. |

GOP needs to behave just like the DEMs while in Mult.Co. Maybe even more left so they can get a vote, More relevance in the media driven view is paramount. (BTW, how is that Oregonian paper circulation doing these days?) That's the goal, right? Win at all costs?

Well I suppose bad publicity is better than no publicity, right? How's that working out for the GOP in MultCo... Oregon... the US? The GOP needs to appear relevant because that's how you win elections. Wanna keep losing elections? OK then, keep pulling dumbass moves like raffling off a rifle, in a church basement, in Multnomah county, in honor of two historical figures... assassinated by... men with... guns. Oh, and make sure that's practically the ONLY press coverage you get inside of the last 2 years that'll pop up on the first 4 pages of a Google search. Now that's political strategy, right there! That press consultant is really earning his commission, dontchya think?! Corruption in Portland city hall? Silence. Columbia River Crossing a boondoggle? Shhh, I think I just heard a mouse-fart. Oregon's economy in shambles? Wait, was that a pin-drop or my tinnitus? Idiots raffling a rifle? Oh-my-mf'ing God, a fat lady just fell in the woods and the ENTIRE WEST COAST laughed! |
