Please contact your NRA representative and or your state legislators regarding SB 407.

Oregon created a Prescription Drug Monitoring Program several years ago that was designed to capture all controlled substance drug dispensings from every retail pharmacy in the state and make that information available to health care providers on demand. The program severely restricts who can access the information and as currently operated works very well in allowing doctors, nurse practitioners and pharmacists to look at their patients and evaluate for drug seeking behaviors. In short, it is working to identify and get people the help they need if they are a controlled substance drug seeker.

Oregon Senate Bill SB407, expands the information being captured to ALL prescription drugs and opens the door to Oregon law enforcement being able to access anyones prescription records. This goes way beyond the original legislations intent and creates a situation where anyone who has ever received ANY antidepressant medication could be denied their second amendment rights to own or carry a firearm concealed for mental health treatment reasons. The state has no valid reason to need or use this information.

This legislation should be stopped. Please contact your state senators and make your feelings known. This is big brother at its worst. Leave the current program as it is - it is working as was originally intended but it does not need to be expanded.

Good catch.

I won't tell my doctor anything these days. Do I occasionally smoke a cigar? No way! Drink alcohol? Never! Eat bacon? Not kosher!

But if a woman wants to kill her unborn baby that's between her and her doctor.

Something is wrong here...
