I am an Oregonian.  I may reside in the E-85 producing MN, but OR is my home.  Every day...without fail, my heart literally aches to be back home.  It's been 2 years since I have seen my home turf.  If you could hook me up with some friendly Oregon pictures I would love it.  I lived in K.  Falls for 16 years, and Brookings for 12.  Portland residents....nevermind.

Love a ded coyote.  Were those yote/shooting pics from just recent or years past?  I'm planning to hit the Fort Rock/Christmas Valley for p-dogs here in a month or so.  Can't wait!

It will be nice to have one of our own back home come November.  There is some beautiful country up in MN though.  A bit cold some times, but beautiful.  None of the Pacific Northwest desert country with Antelope though...

You know, I lived in OR most of my life, and I had no idea there were antelope there.  I'm ashamed I never partook in that fun.

We really are lucky to have such a beautiful state here in the Northwest.  Oregon, Washington, and Idaho all have fabulous places.  I spent a week rafting the main Salmon river in Idaho, The Rogue river in S.W. Oregon, and the Owyhee in S.E. Oregon...truly gorgeous country.

We live in one of the best places in the world in my opinion. Regardless of shit economy. I'll take a shit economy with this beauty over a great economy and mid-west suburban jungle any-day.

I will admit, this place has really grown on me since moving here about 10 months ago.  This is beautiful country and there is SO MUCH to do here, at any time of the year, that we aren't sure my wife and I are moving back to Michigan when her schooling is complete even though both of our families are there.  I've truly enjoyed the time I've spent in this state.

There were plenty enough times this winter where i woke up to a thermometer reading -28.  I'll trade for your cloudy, rainy days any time. If i remember when i get home today, i'll post a few pics of my old OR stomping grounds.

As promised.  Sorry it took me a while.  Stupid blizzard on  Wednesday knocked my satellite out of whack.

me:

my ARFCOM namesake:

We borrowed my buddy's 16 foot Tracker and hauled ass out to Point St. George lighthouse one day.  I think it's about 14 miles from the Brookings port.  Here's a few in sequence:

We got there just in time for sunset.  It was a dark trip back to the harbor!  EDIT:  All those little dark figures on the right side of the lighthouse landing are actually 800-1500lb seals.  They were so loud, their noise drowned out the sound of the 50 horse Johnson on the back of the boat.

A decent days catch:

I'll dig up some more here in a while.

I get plenty of salt rubbed in my wounds from my folks.  They like to tell me about how nice it is over there.    I was sure missing the Brookings Christmas this year!!!
