So after training and many weapon changes I finally feel comfortable enough in my abilities and my weapon to pursue my carry license. My question is about my class,  I took one in september of last year, and i still have all the paperwork from it. But is this something I need to redo since it has almost been a year, or am I good to go??

Thanks guys

man, why did you wait so long?  Just turn 21?  My wife and I both got ours at the same time, and she didn't even own a pistol yet.

Not sure to be perfectly honest. I wanted to be comfortable with my gun that I was going to carry so that I actually did carry rather than just sitting on it and not actually doing it. Now that i feel comfortable and my kit is what I like I am ready.

I am a bit methodical in everyday stuff so this comes to no shock to me or my wife haha.

My paperwork was from Michigan (NRA certified test), and was taken 2 years before I moved here.  It was 100% valid,  and I didn't have to do anything extra to get my CHL.

The test I took was awesomely easy,  was done in a day,  and was taught by the good ol' Michigan Militia!

I believe that law only says that you have to show you completed a firearms safety course.  It doesn't say when, nor does it require any competency like a qualification course.

It is praiseworthy that you waited until you felt you had a reasonable skill level though.  Too many people get the permit without acquiring any competency first....or later on for that matter.
