I think they're on the EE for less than $300. yep, right here for $205: http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=7&f=120&t=737855 make sure he knows which style he wants. They are not all compatible with each other. Read up in this FAQ thread: http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=121&t=413443 cheers, Benji |

yup, that's what we're here for. Yesterday Mike at Tornado Tech showed me another .308 lower option I hadn't seen. CMMG makes a lower that takes G3 mags. G3 mags are $1 at CTD and other places if you look hard enough. It does require a small amount of machining on the upper to fit and there's NO bolt hold-open at the end of a mag. Mike said he does the machining there at TT or you could just do it at home with a dremel because it's not hard and comes with good, simple instructions. He said there was a local group buy on those lowers that I just missed... dang. A .308 AR is on my wish list... cheers, Benji |

What made you decide on that lower? I get the obvious, the cheap mags... But you don't get a bolt hold-open, right? And you've got to do a little milling. Are those the only "negatives"? I just got my Amex "rebate" and I wanna start building one of these but I don't know what direction to go... cheers, Benji |
