im looking to take the class so i can get my carry permit.
anyone here offer a class or have any ideas of a good place to take it? im located in portland thanks |

These guys are offering classes at the BIG three day portland gun show. Yes I am affiliated with them but I don't teach the class. The next big show is next week and they still have openings but its filling rather fast. I know that the Sunday one is filled if I am not mistaken. |
| The requirements for the CHL Instructor is NRA firearms insturctor certification, I believe. Oregon State requirements speciify the NRA basic firearms course. This is either a 6 or 8 hour classroom course. Any gun shop/store/sheriff office can refer you or you can pull up the NRA website and get a referral. Local resources vary from pretty good to horrible. |

Lots of classes out there you can take in 3-4 hrs to satisfy that requirement. But will they leave you with more questions than answers? another vote for OFA, I'm glad I started training there. |
