Who knows how the Sheriff feels about signing off on NFA forms? Especially for folks who live smack in the middle of downtown (Predator, experience here?)...
I want to send in a form 4 and a form 1 (SBR and can) but I'm curious if there are any hoops to jump through/how hard it is to get signed off on. I am also considering going the trust route as well though I've not made up my mind yet... So for folks who went the sign-off route - anything I should know? Those who went trust route - Good lawyers in PDX area familiar w/ NFA trust matters? What did you end up paying in fees and whatnot to get set up? Thanks! |

Thanks for the responses... I'm assuming getting signed off on should be no big deal, just looking for any bits of info that might make the process go smoother.
NoHair- Thanks for letting me know I need to leave a copy of my ODL w/ the forms, with my luck they wont ask and I would have to drive back over there... |

No problem. Most likely the "help" in the office will have no clue as to what you need done , just tell them " Only the Sheriff can sign these", and let them know if you want to pick them up or have them sent to you.
And I am assuming you know it is downtown and not on 122nd. I just got an Email that my MP5 is shipping to my dealer Monday, looks like I will be there next week again. Good luck NoHair |

Sheriff Skipper signed 2 for me earlier this year, and before that, Sheriff Bernie would sign without too much issue.
I normally add a nice cover letter explaining the situation, a copy of ODL and a copy of OR CHL. Most of the clerical staff should know what to do with these, so it should go pretty smooth. Include a phone number so they can call you when they are signed. Check back after a week to follow up. And as nohair said, it's the address on 501 SE Hawthorne, suite 350. You can mail them or deliver them in person. Good luck! |
