Hey all SO i know there is a huge crowd of us that like to head up to browns camp.... (i have yet to make any of those trips) I was thinking what would you all think of having a shoot down at ARPC. The calendar durring the summer is pretty loaded but i want to see if there is a desire first. Second I would need to make a poll of how many of you guys and Gals are a member of ARPC i know of 4 of us. Kav |
Yea, I would pass...again...as this has been brought up before. Our get together are very informal, safe but informal. Having range officers and ranges rules to follow is just not something I want to have at a gathering. You are better off trying to attend one of the gatherings that will be taking place in that area this summer. I am sure there will be at least a couple. |
yeah, I noticed that. wallygator let me shoot his m11, and there was another range nazi standing even closer to me than he was. wallygator was even a range nazi himself, so.... I dunno if they were just afraid I was going to do something stupid or what. |

I like the freedom of Browns Camp and Memaloose, we are such a large group that we don't have to worry to much about anything. We all pretty much head to the front of the shoot. WE practice and play nicely together and we have better ceasefires and setups than others. I like that. Proud to be part of the HTF groupie |
Yep! Then beer/BBQ or something social. You can all make fun of how well I shoot. |

The machine gun shoot is a open public shoot which means anyone and everyone is out there shooting... some have shot full autos for years some this may be they're very first time. The Range has to maintain safety it only takes one incident to happen to end the shoot for good and possibly the range too. I for one would like to see the shoots continue to happen..... That is why there are so many "Range Nazi's" course you could on the other hand offer them a little gratitude. Most are on that line all day both days 16+ hours and they are not getting paid risking thier neck stand close to an unknown experianced shooter. |
I understand, and I completely agree. I really appreciate them volunteering their time to make the event possible. however, having two different people watching me at the same time seems a little excessive. |
Like I said, great place for an organized shoot. Our shoots are anything but that. People here already attend the machine gun shoot so, maybe just get a group together at the next one. Clays, or skeet, great! Machine guns and BBqs and kids and family.....not at the range. Besides that is what the ECSA shoot is for! |
I was just throwing it out there and had not anticpated it on being general public shoot. thats why i was asking howmany members we have that already belong to the range so we can bring you all in as guests....and keep it informal after this last weekend last thing i wanted to do is organize another 2000+ person shoot! least this year that is... So no worries rock pit some where it is then.... |
| Having attended the September shoot at Memaloose (even if it was only for a few hours), I have to say I felt safer and more relaxed than a few times I've just been out with a few friends and some other group of yahoos shows up. Everyone at an OHTF shoot is fairly experienced at handling firearms and has common sense. If someone is acting unsafely, they'll have 50+ people letting them know it and quick! |
