I removed some threads as they were serving no purpose other than to defame and mudsling. I am rather tired of members posting threads that serve no other purpose that to Troll. I am am hoping that no further action with accounts will need to be taken. |
Sure thing Nox, sorry I took part in creating greif. |
I don't understand & I don't care to look up what trolling is... I understand my grip meter is fading fast though I love how my Body of War thread looks so Patriotic now too thanks |
| This is an instance where I don't care really about who's right or who's wrong, but you gotta expect people with differing opinions to comment when you post something. Just comes with the territory of being an open board. I've started threads that didn't go how I wanted them, but what's the point of getting pissed. I opened the door, and have to accept what others post wether I like it or not. I even requested a thread locked because it went to hell in a hurry, and rather than let someone fuel the fire and me getting pissed about it, I let it go away. Gotta think ahead before posting that someone might not like what you have to say. |
Look in the mirror and read your own threads. Pretty close to the definition. But then you don't care to, so I guess it's more "head in the sand" for you. I know my reply isn't especially witty or thoughtful, but I didn't care to expend the effort. |
mmm...right "An Internet troll, or simply troll in Internet slang, is someone who posts controversial and usually irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum or chat room, with the intention of baiting other users into an emotional response[1] or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion." If you think our Admendment rights are irrelevant, or that the war is off topic in a gun forum than you are crazy. And I have never posted anything that got emotional responses in the past have I? atleast not any that should have... I think SOME people understand where I am coming from and that I just think it's important to think criticaly and for yourself. A very important thing in life most people never catch onto is the ability to understand what people's true intentions are by what they are saying to you. "Don't listen to the words said, look at their intentions..." "where the rate of deception is high — many honestly naïve questions may be quickly rejected as trollings. This can be quite off-putting to the new user who upon venturing a first posting is immediately bombarded with angry accusations. Even if the accusation is unfounded, being branded a troll is quite damaging to one's online reputation." |
Quoted for posterity. These will likely be the rantings of a long lost member. Let's preserve it for the ages. |
What year did Rush release it? I do love their music. I have to go torrent hunting for Geddy Lee's "Take off to the Great White North" he did for "Bob & Doug McKenzie's Great White North." Hell, I need to find the whole album! |
A Passage to Bankok If I remember correctly that was a song about world travel or something... Something ![]() One of my favorite rush songs. Off Topic mode disengaged |
Febuary of 76. Its right after 2112 epic. Its a great song about train that goes from Bogata and heads East to Bangkok. A lot of stops are made on the way. This was 2 decades before the Chunnel. Canada had some badass engineers back then. |
I used to have that double CD set, Chronicles. Got stolen, along with a lot of other cd's I had, many moves ago. Guess I'll have to get me one of them thar mp3 do-hickies! I guess the thread we're referring to dropped off the list (Guess where I am). I thought he was referring to One Night In Bangkok - Murray Head, with the 80's reference. (And that's about professional Chess, not the kind of mate your contemplating.) |
It was from the Guess were I am thread. Someone had the lyrics to A Passage To Bangkok, and credited the song to Styx and dated 1981. The Chronicles was a good anthology of the first 15 years of Rush, but they have done so much more since. Oh and the song is about cannabis. |
ETA..WooHoo post 100. Shit I thought it was the B-side of 2112, what else did I forget from the 80's![]()
