Do you fill the paperwork out and wait for approval before you purchase your lower and have it engraved??? Or do you purchase the lower, fill out the paperwork, wait for approval, and then have it engraved??? What exactly needs to be engraved? |

You will need the lower first. Once you see an F1, you'll understand. more info: www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=6&f=22&t=199905 |
are you a WA State resident? I'm pretty sure SBRs are not allowed in WA State. |
Gendaito is correct. |

No-Aim is correct. |
M-60 is also correct. |
I am going to disagree a bit.![]() There is no law stopping you having whatever you want engraved on your lower. You can have "Property of Osama B. Laden" on it if you wish. So you can engrave your name (or company, or trust) on it PRIOR to submitting your form 1. In fact, it makes good sense to do this, because if the engraving screws up your lower, you are out ~ $120 for a new lower, rather than being out ~$320 for the lower plus tax AND having to wait a few more weeks/months for your replacement lower to be approved. ETA: Of course, this still doesn't get around the "No SBRs in WA" bit. |
