So I picked up a few 30-06's for some side work and need a little help Iding them. The first I think is a Sauer Model 98. It has the double trigger, sling attachment on the barrel and looks like pics I have found on the net Problem is the only markings are the SE# on the receiver and barrel. No manufacture or caliber markings of any kind. The second is what appears to be a 1903 with a checkered stock. Again no manufacture or caliber markings, but on the top of the barrel near the front sight is stamped R A 8-43. And partially under the front scope mount is a SE# in the 3 million mark. Does anyone want to post some Pics for me tomorrow afternoon? If so please IM me your e-mail addy. Thanks for the help guys |

Very nice Sauer. Those were comercial mausrs and are of very good quality. Very saught after in certain crowds. That is a GREAT rifle for NA game and IMHO a keeper. Would like to take a closer look at that one when you come home! If you sell would also like first dibbs. The springfield is likley just a bubba-d o3. The Markings on the barrel are re-arsenal markings that translate to "Raritan Arsenal August 1943" I am not sure about the mfg or original date. Looks like an average priced converted 03. I think in the $300-400 range....which means $250-300 The enfiled....

Thanks for the help guys. It really sucks being in Ca and not having a range near by to blast away with these guns. Now for the good part I also aquired two bolt action SHOTGUNS. One is a JC Higgens 20 ga tube feed and the other is a Stevens 12ga with a two shot mag. WTF am I going to do with these turds? |
ha my dad has an ancient .410 bolt action shotgun with a 4 or 5 round magazine. I think I've shot it once, and that's the only time I've ever seen it out of his gun cabinet.

That was my 1st thought, but the front sight doesn't look right to me..... |
And some of them you could send the bolt back in to Sears Corp for $160 dollars. *While working at the shop we used to get those in trade all the time...."Sure I will give you $50 trade or cash for that old POS....
