So I am looking for a new buttstock and I have heard mixed reviews about the CAA stocks.

What say the HTF...

I had the CBS.  it was good for the money.  I sold it to a friend in my quest for FA.  It was kind of bulky and didnt look like the rest of the gun.  but it seemed like a good collapsable stock.  way better than the basic M4.

Ma spend the money for the magpul CRT! I really puckered up when I forked out the $, but goddamed I love the stock, every one I've showed it to has nothing but complements!

I really like my VLTOR Clubfoot, most comfortable stock I've tried.

On a side note, I got an extra sumpin sumpin in the EE.....

I dont have the complete stock but I do have the CAA saddle on a six position that makes for very easy sight alignment

I have to agree with Boo.  I recently purchased a VLTOR Clubfoot stock it is very comfy and the cheek weld is outstanding.  Watch the EE for deals.  I scored mine for $100 shipped for the complete stock assembly (mil spec tube, buffer & spring, castle nut, end plate).

Don't have any experience with the CAA stock itself, but but there saddle works very well.

Ken - I'm running a SOPMOD - great cheek weld, two water tight comparments.  love it.

Notice that the cheekweld is still on the buffer tube with all those stocks.

The MagPul M93B (and upcoming UBR) changes that. The cheekweld is where you want it for NTCH style shooting.

SURPRISE BUTTSTOX!

I like both the Vltor and SOPMOD
The SOPMOND does allow a little better cheekweld due to the longer OAL.

And you get it all for more than twice the price of the VLTOR!  You can't lose!!

Wait, that didn't come out right...

I got mine used for about the same as a VLTOR + Tube. And it's still a nicer stock. That said, why the fuck are you crapping in this thread?

I have this one.  I like it.  It fits tight and doesn't rattle.  I like the rubber buttpad also.

You say that like it's a bad thing.  Other than the stock, what's a tube, buffer and spring cost?  Honestly, it's a great stock - worth the $50 differential, IMHO

How is the M4 SOCOM (L) from Ace Ltd.?  It looks like it would be a little better then a regular stock for NTCH shooting.

You can NTCH just fine with the VLTOR....I'm just not doing it in the pic....As for the Socom.....being that I have one right next to me waiting to ship out....it doesn't do anything for me. Take your A2 stock off and shoulder just the buffer tube...that'll give you an idea of a Socom's cheek weld.

So the foam pad does not help?  Bummer.

Nope....foam isn't soft & squishy, it's actually pretty hard. Suppose it's just to keep your face from freezing to the tube.

LOL

Nah, just an old A1 stock that I figured I could make into a cheaper, crappier
version of a 603 stock. Works fine, but the end plate (chopped up CAR stock insterted
into the A1) doesn't line up too well.
