How long before we see a car with the bolt sticker and a WWCHD? and ask what member it was?

you know my girlfriend is from originally Germany and her comment kinda of ran a bell to me.

She asked me why is it here that the gun culture in America is mostly morbidly obese people?

She seems to be pretty much right.
KC, and all the other shoots I have been too, 90 percent of the people were obese.
She came with me to several gun shows and 2 machine gun shoots and she was right on the money.

Why?

Seriously dudes.....I am not perfect weight myself but I am striving to lose as much as I can. I am about about 30 pounds overweight myself

Yeah anti-gun fucktards are idiots and always will be but I seem to see alot of them to be pretty fit people except the bull dykes and lesbians...

I'm not sure what my comment is gonna be put under but it's just a generalized perception.

It just would be nice to see more healthy people in the sport.

Sorry if someone feels offended but that's my observation that's all.

We are into guns because we can't run.

I know I need to lose weight.  I know how to lose weight.  I want to lose weight.

Getting it done is a whole differant story.

I just dropped my pack after I got out....  I always hated PT and now I know why

BEFORE

13 Years Later

Since I was out the beer and liquor consumption stayed the same, however the PT stopped.  I am happy to say that I just started dieting though and have lost about 10 lbs in the last 2 weeks.

It would be nice if arf could support each other in our diets and exercise and in maintaining a proper weight.

Yeah we are a community with a unique culture. Believe me I would much rather have the support of people I know and can relate too than woman at the local jennie craig, weight watchers and LA weight lose center with issues with their husbands and kids and blaming the spoon for everything

Maybe we can all support each other and stuff and set up a thread on our loses and sticking to the diet plan.

I am in if anyone else joins me.

Come on dudes..I want to be lanky and skinny again and we know its healthy....and then I swear the competition at the PR's would have to be upped the ante if we were all at our ideal weight.

I think more of the idea is a support group than anything else. However, I think if we are doing to make it interesting, there should be a weekly weigh in.  I dont mind running it at all. This is one of the FEW sites that's not blocked at work.

It should be the most lbs lost in a set amount of time as well, and possible prizes could be a "membership" to the site....

Guys, I am totally in on the weight loss thing. I have been trying hard do lose the weight too. My goal is 200 pounds. Right now I weigh about 245 give or take a few. I joined the Marines in 1991 and lost 60 pounds (from 225 to 165) and gained all of it and then some since I got out (I got out at 200 pounds in 2001).

Maybe if we stickied a thread with our initial post of date and weight, we can then edit our original posts with a weekly update. Also, post weight loss extra efforts (gym time, stopped eating) that contributed to our progress.

I for one have a hard time losing weight due to my unchanged appetite and the night shift. Hence, I am always tired and always hungry. I also started school 2.5 years ago so my gym time dropped off the radar and I went from 225 to 250.

During my divorce 5 years ago, I focused my time and anger on weights and would spend 3 hours in the gym a day. But now I'm not angry any more, I go to school instead of the gym, and I got re-married. So far, I have only gained 10 pounds in the last year but I want to lose it all and more.

I'm in,
Tony.

Here's me and the wife a year ago on our wedding day...

That's not a bad Idea, I was thinkin whoever is in kicks in 5 dollars each to be part of the competition, and the biggest loser wins a gold membership or something.  That way the money goes back into the site.

All are great ideas. I am grateful right now that no one is taking it badly. For that I am grateful.

Monthly or weekly weight ins and weekly updates would do wonders.

My idea for support is that we need one thread or subthread discussing the basics and what to do in certain situations.
Some of us work in office settings some of us work in outdoor settings and the greatest threat I believe is just the little stuff in the diets.

Man I would feel a ton better if there are others that are in the same boat going to the gym or walking for 1 hour or so and avoiding bad snacks or something.

I have seen other weight loss web sites do it like in that fashion.

There wasn't any kind of PROFESSIONAL but more or less a support group.

We can list how the week went and how we did not fall to temptation or anything. We avoided the donut, the snickers, drank water...blah blah etc etc.

Somehow it works in a weird way.....

I hate it totally that we cannot do it ourselves sometimes and we need motivators so yeah membership wouldn't be so bad or some kind of prize would not hurt.

You know....I had a lady buddy who was in the serious boat of weight issues. I mentioned it to her a while back and she was super pissed about it and never talked to me for awhile. She emailed me about it later on and admitted it to me that she does have a weight problem.

6 months later with determination..she lost well over 40 pounds and wanted to prove it to me. She met a nice guy and they are getting married this summer. If I didn't look at her as a friend only, I would be way all over her, she's way hot now after shedding some pounds and she is proud of it and changed her lifestyle around it also.

Folks...we can do it. My goal is 30 pounds.. I am at 190 pounds and I want to be back at an ideal weight of 160. I can do it and I could use some help and if others need a hand, I would be happy to give a hand.

I end this with a quote I learned.
Of all exercises walking is the best.. but he also said that shooting was the ultimate and best sport
-   Thomas Jefferson

I prefer a good walk and I miss it...but with this thread...I'm going to get back into it besides the gymtime.

PRDUBI, dude I have posted in here so many times about asking people here to run with me -- I run a lot and now have taken up bicycling too.  Only Pattymcn has been serious about doing a run.

I'd really like to put together an arfcomm Hood to Coast team sometime but I am skeptical we'd get the 12 people we need.

Oh and for me the issue isn't exercise, I get plenty of that (25 + miles per week running).  It's eating like a freaking pig that's my problem.  And just like the rest of you, I feel pretty unhappy when I look at my photos from PR and realize I'm not the ripped 25 year old I used to be (which I have picture-proof of and no, I won't post them!)

In any case, a long time ago when I used to surf glocktalk, a bunch of us were putting our weight loss goals and progress on our sig lines.  I'd be up for that again, and may be even kick some $$ or gear into a kitty for the Biggest HTF Loser.
