I am late to the fight.........it has to be criminal,My son was involved in some sort of drug deal that went bad (all of this is to the best of my knowledge) and stabbed somebody during a fight.

I did not know until his grandmother called me 2 weeks ago,and that was a total surprise,we have never gotten along.

I don't want to go into family history but I will say it has been a hard road with my first son,why he tried to go this alone is beyond me.

He is now in prison,SRCI....to be exact........as a family unit we are hurt, and I am his Father and I can't say.

At any rate I wrote him and sent him a few bucks, today I recieved a fuckin (excuse me) letter from him with the forms I have to fill out to visit him.

These are going out today, sure we'll be approved.

So when they come back and we hit the road,I ....could use a phone number in advance.

I'm betting attorneys are pretty thin on the ground out in Ontario.  Sorry I can't recommend one for you.

If you are planning to spend your money on an appeal, you might want to look in Portland or some place there are more criminal attorneys.

Without knowing the details, sounds like he'd be better served if you saved your money and spent it on rehab program when he gets out.

If he's in the pen he had his trial and lawyer.  You might want to get a transcript of the trial or discuss it with his lawyer.

Transcript (or tape) yes.  But there are few things a lawyer hates worse than some third party calling and wanting to "discuss" a case.

If all else fails, try the bar referral service.

Is that due to lack of compassion or lack of money?

Rules we have to live by.  Would you be comfortable talking to an attorney "confidentially" if you know he could then go and chat with anybody else about it, without so much as a "by your leave" from you?

If you really really really have to do it, have the person you're wanting to talk about  sign a release, then put up the money for the attorney's time.  I don't ask gunsmiths to work on my stuff for free - why does everyone seem to think I should give up my time for nothing?

Well I was just messing with ya, but really...I didn't understand the original question.

Good thing I keep a copy of two attorneys names, addressess, and phone numbers in my wallet so I know who to call when I shouldn't think for myself.

If you're serious, yes. I'm PM you the names.
It is important for anyone who CCW's to not only have the name(s) of their attorney on hand but to actually meet with them to discuss both parties stand on guns. Imagine being detained and having to pick a pro-gun attorney out of a phone book while bubba is sizing up your virgin ass (well I can vouch for mine...not sure about the rest of you)

I knew you were.

And GREAT points about already knowing your attorney choices.

PM me who's in your wallet, if you don't mind, so I can see if it's anybody I know.
