| I bought a TacStar light for my AR about a year ago and it already went out. And yes I changed the batteries. So I Don't know why and don't care. My question is I want a surefire light and i can't spend $400 on one, what would you guys recommend? |
| I like my AR's stock and didn't want to put a rail on and didn’t think I needed a light. After shooting the PR night match with a light duct taped on, I went on the EE and found a surefire m500ab with a turbo head for just over 300. I figured if I wanted a cheaper light I'd still have to spend the money on a rail (or other means of mounting), tape switch and perhaps a throw mount. All combined I think it was cheaper for me to just get the surefire that I got. YMMV. |

Two gun shows ago I picked up a Pentagon X3 for $50 new. They were closing them out and only had the one or else I would have bought both. It's not the military hard coat, but I ain't complaining. I'm still looking for a good way to mount it on my M4 which I don't want rail hand guards on. I'll probably get the front sight post rail thingy to try with a tape switch. On my 9mm carbine I have a G2 with the anti-shock bezel which works fine for closer in stuff. I also have one of these Wolf Eyes which are really nice lights, but don't have the pedigree that the others have. I paid more for mine as they just dropped the prices. I might need to order another one. These take four batteries and are pretty dam bright. |
I see to go to the PDX gun shows every time, and I have no idea who Cape is :) |
He looks alot like this guy. |
But with more of a crazy look in his eye. Nick |
