Last thing I read yesterday was from KGW.com and I quote: " There is a front moving into tonight with weak humidity. We may see some flurries but I wouldn't be surprised if we saw nothing at all." About an inch here in West Linn so far ![]() |
Hey my husband drove our 46 Chev pick up to work [he tossed some old batteries in back from weight] and I've been driving my olds. I have chains and can/will chain up to get up the hill I live on. The suburban is just pure entertainment for the kidlets as its two wheel drive and just hallerious to spin cookies in! We do have the Jimmy it things get nasty but I don't for see that happening. Of course I don't share the road with 1 million other idiots. |

downtown portland was a mess. I went to a meeting in SW Portland, and there were cars spinning out and sliding all over the place. Mine too, unfortunately. Managed to make it to the meeting, and then back home without hitting anything. My car still has summer performance tires on it, they REALLY don't work well in the snow. |
so check this out. i Went to Freddy's to get some flu medicine for myself and came back home. Parked the car in the drive way it's got a maybe 30% grade. car was fine. Went in the house and went to check mail and my car was half way in the street!!! I was like ZOMG WTHFSHIT? WOAH! some guy on cross country skis went by and waved and i was like... No one under the car.... let's just park it at the end of the drive way.. ![]() ![]()

School was out, AFTER my class whas done. Had to drive there and back in the shit. I waited over an hour and a half for traffic to clear out, before I could leave the school. Damn hill out of the school was iced, and no one could drive up it. I put chains on and went right up. I guess that says something for a front wheel drive Toyota and common sense driving. |

On my way in today I got to see 2 or 3 cars stopped at a 45 deg. angle to any direction of traffic, in the middle of the intersection, waiting for the light to turn green. There was also a ford truck that hit a taurus or something by the Hillsboro airport three times in the same intersection. The taurus spun out turning off of the street that runs past the fairgrounds onto cornell and the truck just couldn't avoid his back end so he kept hitting it, bouncing off, and hitting it again. However, my "Jackass of the Day Award" goes out to the guy pulled over on the very small shoulder going eastbound on Hwy. 8 a couple blocks past the Cornelius Fred Meyers. There is at this point maybe 3/4 to an inch of snow down and he's got his ass hanging into a lane of traffic putting chains on his front wheel drive car. He was of course surrounded by lots and lots of empty parking lots. |

There must have been a dozen cars all piled up on 72nd Avenue this morning, between Bonita and Hwy 217. It looks like they were heading up the S-curve, and everybody just slid off to the right. The police were turning away people that didn't have traction control devices. I actually had to put chains on just to go the last 1/2 mile to work. It was pretty retarded...
