Many good ideas were discussed in regards to saving the 308 in PR. Have we made any progress with any of those ideas?

What about 762x39? I never really did see if that was allowed.

Just wondering

Isn't most of the 7.62x39 bimetal, and doesn't that cause more damage?  or something?

Do not shoot Bi-Metal rounds.

Copper jacketed 7.62x39 rounds do exist.

I thought bimetal bullets went both ways?

Where can I find this non bimetal bulleted 7.62x39 round?

Wolf made some. It came in a Yellow Box.

Otherwise, I don't know. I got rid of my AKs about that time.

Yup, yellow label Wolf....IF you can find it. I also seem to remember the Yugo surplus being copper jacket with a lead core, but don't quote me......

This is why I don't have a 7.62x39 AK anymore........hell, it's hard enough trying to find ammo period.

While bi-metal and steel core are bad for the targets in any caliber, and hence not allowed, I think the issue here is about the higher power .308 Winchester (a.k.a. 7.62x51 NATO) rounds, even those with a copper jacket and lead core.

7.62x39 rounds have always been considered in the same power factor as the .223/5.56, at least at Practical Rifle.
