Last week I picked up my USP Tactical, my first .45ACP.  Being my first, I've never really priced .45 ACP.  Today I went to good ol' BiMart and they had the 'mega packs' (250 rnds) for $49 so I bought 2.  Is that a good price?

Sometimes Bi-mart has a little coupon book that has a coupon for those megapacks.

You got your ammo -- that's the important part.  And even though we've never met and you didn't ask, why, yes, I'd be delighted to test your new handgun with your ammo.

For local, that's about the best I find.  Should be able to find a little better on the net.

It's the newst, coolest thing... كافر

the squigglythingy means infidel....   I see it all over ARFCOM now-a-days so I thought I'd poke fun at it... you can buy T-shirts with it, I've seen.

Should we meet up at a local shoot, you're welcome to go a few mags.  Hopefully it will be canned by then.  You can recognize me as I'm the guy with WS4LIF's scalp Cape_hunters thumb hanging from my belt.

$100 bucks seemed kind of high for 500 rounds of pistol ammo but I've seen .45 ACP at GI Joes for $35 per 50 rounds so I figured, WTF! and bought it

$100 isn't that bad for new ammo, I think I paid $85 for 500 rounds of reloaded stuff at the September fun-show.

I've shot the HSM police reloads before and they seemed to perform fine.  I imagine if you can find them anywhere in quantity that it will be the cheapest option.

$10/ 50 is the going rate for locally purchased brass case ammo.  A few weeks back I saw Bi Mart had White box FMJ  for $9 on sale.  Best price I found was from my FFL, case of 1000 Blazer Brass for $180.

That's what I paid last month as well. Hollow-points feed just fine in the AR45.

For factory new, I use $180/1000 as a standard cheap rate -- that's internet prices and sometimes gunshow/Miwall prices too.   Does not include shipping.  Sometimes the price gets better, sometimes it doesn't.  Wolf can be lower but you either like Wolf or you don't.

The UMC mega packs work well for me too, and I think $49 per 250 isn't bad.  BiMart usually has the best prices IMHO (except for net & gun shows etc).

Don't forget to figure in the cost of that Dillon and your time (unless you think your time is worthless).

The dillon pays itself off pretty quick.   My time could be spent helping clean the house or reloading ammo.   You figure out which is more worthless

Well anyhow Y'all feel free to save me your brass.

I've got about 50 or so pounds of .45acp brass all tumbled up and waiting for bullets

You guys remember to wear your gowns to the gradumacation

it is an OK price except that it is UMC. I think UMC is horrible ammo. I often have misfires in  223 9mm 40sw and 45acp. also UMC is not very accurate. Win white box S&B and PMC are all better cheap ammo in my opinion. I usually get really annoyed whenever I shoot the stuff and swear I won't buy it again. Next time you have a gun show head down there with a hundred bucks or so and you should be a ble to get a good deal.

Time spent at the loading bench is priceless.  I'm a single stage user and I enjoy every minute.

My equipment paid for itself years ago.
