I have an old level 3A vest that I've popped a few rounds into from .40, .45 and .223 with the expected outcome.   Anyhow I'm looking to test a few more rounds with it.  Anybody got something unusual to try?   I plan to bring it to the next arfcom shoot whenever that will be.   Obviously a 7mm mag will go through it so stuff like that is really out of consideration.   If anyone has a 5.7x28 that would be interesting or maybe a .30 Tok?   Anyhow the vest is OLD so it wont have the same stopping ability as a new one but it should be interesting and could  blow holes in the brady bunch's arguements.  I'm in Oregon City if you've got something to test.   We could meet up and I'll be happy to drop it off / leave it with ya for the test as long as you bring it to the next shoot.

Just got a "new to me" CZ52.  I understand that those surplus 7.62X25 rounds cut through a vest.

When you test the vest make sure its mounted properly.  If its hanging free then the tests are meaningless.  It needs to have something behind the vest that would take up any free space.

The CZ-52 can penetrate a IIA but a IIIA maybe something else.  Also there is a variety of 7.62x25 ammo out there which varies from "weak" to "ooh my God!".  They had some of the hot stuff at the last Expo Gun Show.

Don't use the rifles on the vest unless you are finished with the vest.

Vests break down with the cumulative effect of UV rays, sweat, heat, dirt and constant flexing.
