I picked up an older XT225 dual sport bike, where do I need to go ride? And who wants to ride with me?

You might want to mention the area you live in. You probably don't want to traverse the state on that bike.

I also suggest you check out Georgia Off Road and Bloke's Sport Bike forums.

I had a couple of bikes when I was a kid, as well as some sport bikes when older, and really miss riding.  Do you mind if I ask where you got it and what you paid?

If I could pick up a bike or two, gently used and reasonably priced, I wouldn't feel too bad about letting them sit in the garage or out back - and then taking them out once a month or so.  I just expect to be fully disappointed about current prices.

Georgia Overland had some decent overland trail maps at one time. Check out ADV Rider.com too. Good group of guys.

Johns Mtn, Grassy Mtn, Ft. Mtn. - many many miles of gravel roads in the Cohutta Wilderness area.

I used to do a lot of riding up there. When I sold off my last street bike I picked up a mint 600XT and hate myself for ever selling it....

PS: I forgot to send you photos of my mesh jacket on FB. I'll try to remember to send those to you this weekend.

edit pic from John's Mtn overlook:

Its a 97, so old bike. I paid $800 and it came with a spare engine. But I had to rebuild the carb and replace the front brake caliper (easy stuff).

That's not bad.  Not sure about rebuilding engine parts, but I'm sure I could probably figure it out.

I think my kids would enjoy 2-up riding some easy trails.  The problem would be arguing over who gets to go.  My wife also has her license, but hasn't been in the saddle except as a passenger since getting it.

I just picked up my mid-life crisis bike.

It's straight dirt at this point but I'm eager to get her our.

If you have not hooked up with folks on that ADV Rider forum you are missing out. When I used to ride that was the go-to forum and had some of the best bike guys that I have met in person.
