Me and the Missus have been going through it. Long story short, we may or may not end up being together. When I first put the house up for sale, it was because my employer had relocated to Midtown, and I wanted to get a little bit closer to the city. I didn't WANT to leave my ten acres behind, but I wasn't looking forward to a 90 minute commute (in decent traffic) either. So I figured, downsize a little, we can get a similar priced home closer in, and as long as we pick the right neighborhood, the value will rise or fall the same as it would have as if we were still in the house out west - can't really lose too much. Well, she threw a monkey wrench into the works when she announced that when the house sold, we would be splitting up. She's been hot and cold on the idea ever since. One day she wants to stay together, the next she's leaving the state. I'm not the type to run out on my marriage, and she knows this, so I've been trying to make all kinds of contingency plans - none have really worked out. The end result, we happen to be houseless at the moment. Staying in a two-room extended stay place that I just can't afford for too much longer.
I've got information on a few apartments that will write me a three-month lease for a lot less money. Only problem is, the biggest pet they allow is 50 pounds. I've got six pets - four dogs and two cats. Two of the dogs are full-sized German Shepherds, female, 85 - 95 pounds each. The mama is about ten years old, and the daughter is five years old. I can't afford to board them. I can't send them to the Humane Society, or to any place where I'll never get them back. They're family - shit, they're like little kids. The youngest one, I had to help deliver when she got stuck coming out. She's my girl - the one I always tell, "I brought you into this world, little girl, and I can take you out!" I need someone in or around the Atlanta area, who can foster the two big dummies for a couple months. I'll pay for food, and if I can't find their shot records I'll pay to have them re-vaccinated. They'd be no problem. They're big, but they're smart, loyal, protective over small children and small animals, and they're well-behaved. Once I find a new house to buy, they would be coming back with me, and the missus can either come along or leave, whatever pleases her. I'd appreciate it if y'all could ask around, and see if there's a good home that could watch over my two girls for a couple months. |
