So, being over 40, starting to have problems reading fine print, over the counter reading glasses were sort of a solution, so I decided to get a proper eye exam done.  MANY moons ago, when I was a ROTC scholarship cadet, I had one eye exam that said I had an astigmatism, but all of my other eye exams have been normal, and I've never worn glasses.  So I get checked, the doctor was VERY surprised that I'm strongly right eye dominant, because that's the eye that I have an astigmatism in, my vision is much better from my left eye :-)  So in a week or two, I'll get to start getting used to glasses, will be interesting to see whether it helps my shooting...

Try "monovision" contacts technique. Use one contact to focus on pistol front sight (in my case - right eye) and use one contact to focus at distance (in my case - left eye). Been doing this for a long time. Many people cannot do this - you can get a sample set of contacts to try this.
