1029 Creek Nation Road
Jefferson, GA 30549 Both days will start at 0800hrs EST and run until approximately 1700hrs EST, with a 1 hour break for lunch. This course is designed for the shooter that is a novice to the AR platform; no previous skill or experience is necessary. It is also an excellent refresher for those that haven’t delved into the AR platform in a while. I have set this course up as a 1- or 2-day course. You can take 1 or both days. The cost will be $200 for the 1-day, or $300 for both days. I accept cash, checks, money orders and PayPal (students cover the PayPal fees). The course is set up so that Day 2 immediately builds upon what was taught on Day 1. Day 1 topics: -Nomenclature and functioning, to include aftermarket accessories, “upgrades”, magazines, ammo, etc. -Cleaning, care and maintenance -Range safety and safe handling -Fundamentals of marksmanship -Loading & unloading -Zeroing with both iron sights (fixed or backups) and optics -Shooting from various ready positions -Basic use of cover -Basic reload -Clearing a “simple” malfunction Day 2 topics: -Combat Mindset -Transitions to secondary weapon (handgun) -Shooting while moving -Pivots and offline movement -Multiple target engagement -Intermediate use of cover techniques -Clearing more "complicated" malfunctions -Introduction to the Tactical Carbine Course Gear list Day 1: AR rifle or carbine, any centerfire caliber 200 rounds of ammunition Minimum 6 magazines Pouch or other method to carry at least 1 magazine on your person for an immediate reload Sling Eye and ear protection Ball cap or other hat with at least a front brim on it Day 2 gear list: Same as above, with the addition of: Handgun (revolver or semi-automatic) with holster Minimum of 1 handgun reload on person 50 rounds of handgun ammunition 500rds of additional AR ammo 5 dummy rounds or snap caps in your AR caliber * A word on ammunition counts. I always ask students to bring more ammo than I think you will need. Better to have too much and take some home than to run out partway through the day! Dress appropriately for the weather, whatever it will be. Comfortable attire and shoes/boots are a must. Bring plenty of water and food for lunch. I require students to pre-pay to guarantee their slot in the course. Your slot is not guaranteed until your course fees have been received. Please respond as soon as you know you want to attend; I will place you on the roster and reply with payment info. At the end of the course, all students will receive a certificate with their course hours on it. You can go to Precision Applications, LLC and read my resume, along with the resume of the Instructor that will be assisting me, Jeff Edwards. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any comments, questions or concerns. Semper Fi! Shep |

I'll give the address and directions to folks that sign up for the course. It will be on a range on private property in Winder GA. Nice place with over 150 acres to train on, but not open to the public.
When/if the course fills up, I'll post it here and take names for the Standby List. Course is about half full right now. |

I bought mine at Bass Pro Shops. Lyman A-zoom Snap Caps Cabela's also carries them. I got some off of amazon (they were cheaper, should have known better) and they were Chinese fakes. They were not Lyman, they were not to 223 spec or consistent and the primer was a very hard piece of plastic instead of the soft polymer. If you go the Amazon route, pick one of the known major companies selling them instead of the cheapest one. Quoted:
Best brand of snap caps and/or place to get them? I was googling them and Amazon came up first. |

Something about this property......last 2 classes I did up there were in the rain. Think I'll wear a kilt on Saturday....... Well, that piece of property doesn't dissapoint. I hope ya'll were a little drier today that it was yesterday.
MedicOC hope your back is feeling better. The weather was about as perfect as it could be for a mid-July shoot. On Sunday, no rain and never got above about 75. Thanks for putting on a great class Shep! |

Hell, I spent all day worrying about whether I was going to get lumped into the "bag of fuck" category of student. Jeff #1 looks like he eats prison bars for breakfast, and shits tazer barbs and handcuffs at lunch time........I really didn't want to be on his bad side. ![]() ![]() |

D_J, your wife did great! A joy to have in the class. She is very excited to do some more training soon. Do you have more AR classes posted on your site yet? She did mention a night time pistol class, but I only have 9mm stored in 4 digits whereas I have 5.56 in 5 digits. |

I'd like to do an AR course in September, if I can find a suitable range. If not, it will be late fall or early winter.
October 11 I'm doing a Combat Handgun & Lowlight Engagment Course. 8 hours, starts at approximately 1300hrs and runs through nighttime. Still have a few slots left open for it. |
