trying to figure out what would cause such a dramatic POI shift with this new gun.  I picked up a threaded Sig Mosquito and got an AAC threaded adapter (pn100292) on it with an AAC pilot.  I am trying from about 30 feet away and the shift is off to 1 o'clock by several inches.

I have already got another threaded adapter thinking it was the problem.  I use the pilot on several other hosts and never noticed any POI shift.  so does that only leave the gun?

the rear sight is already all the way to the left and I can't go any more.  What can I do to fix this?  Am I just screwed and the mosquito will never make a good host?

ETA, the pic is rotated for some reason, but the shift is to the 1 o'clock position.

here is a better pic. wife isn't home so I took the can off and tried it out.  it's about where I would expect it to be since the sight is all the way to the left:

same distance, and I also just noticed something else,  the hits with the pilot all appear to be keyholeing.  notice how nice and round the ones with out the can are.....

ETA, in case anyone notices the box.....my wife sells 31 so we have lots of those laying around.  it's not mine. but if anyone would like to have a 31 party just let me know,my wife would love to host one for you! (I hope that's not breaking the site rules for advertizing )

The Mosquito has a fixed barrel if I remember right?
If it's a floating barrel instead you may be getting a bullet strike on the can.
Member on here that is local was haing the same issues with his FNX and it turned out to be the bullet was striking the top inside edge of the can. Silencerco took the can back and machined the opening so it would work right. Crazy thing about it was that the can was fne before being fixed when he ran it on his Glock and 1911.

Edit; it was John AKA 03Rangerxlt

It is a fixed barrel and I have looked for baffel strikes and can't see any. It its a sealed can though so I can't Fayette there aren't any. The key holed holes are concerning though....

I have a lever gun that does that. I am not sure if its the threading or some weird harmonics associated with having the can on. It's 12" or more at 100 yards

Sounds like it's not the can. It works fine on other hosts. That leaves the barrel and the threads- all 3 sets of them (the threads on the can are fine, as proven on other hosts). Oh, and ammo.

That leaves the:
sleeved barrel.
The male threads on the sleeved barrel.
The female threads on the adapter
The male threads on the adapter.
Ammo.

What ammo are you using? Please baby jesus don't say Aguila SSS.

Word. Your eyes were open the whole time, right? I know loud noises are scary, but you'll have to man up and drive on.

Ammo is, CCI green tags, CCI subs, cci quiets, federal bulk, Remington subs, AE subs.

It had also been the same with the shooters...

With out the can it shoots just fine. Anyone near Cumming Georgia have a known good thread adapter I could try?

So I meet a convicted felon in a dark parking lot behind a dumpster and got two pistols for a deal!

Brought them home and swapped the adapter between two hosts. Old gun with borrowed adapter were on or around the bullseye.  New gun with old adapter shot close to a foot off!

Pretty sure that would indicate the problem is with the AAC adapter. Hopefully I can return it with out any problems

Thanks again Mitch!

So you had your wife shoot the group on the right and you shot the group on the left?

No worries, go ahead and hold onto them until my parole hearing

And just to be clear after talking to the umpteenth initialed agency, there was no
Conviction listed only an arrest that didnt exist.

My 15/22 is doing the same thing with my HTA Kestrel .22 can on it, POI is dramatic and all over the place. If you notice to your bullets are key holing, which mine does also, but Im have zero baffle strikes. Ive been told it has to do with slow ammo and the pressure the can puts on it, or something like that which causes it.

ok now I am even more confused......

I stopped by Dawsonville and picked up the silencer co adapter with the o-ring (only one they had).  brought it home all excited and low and behold, it was doing the same thing. now I am pretty much pissed,

I thought I had it figured out with the adapter, any reasonable person would agree based on the fact it followed the adapter!  so I was pretty pissed so I decided to experiment.  I took a washer and put it between the can and the adapter and it rotated the POI.  more washers, more rotation.  never got it closer to the bulls eye it just followed around it like a clock.

so what am I missing here?  the adapter I borrowed from the felon was a sig factory adapter?  could it really be that specific?  did I jsut get lucky with his adapter?   should I order the factory adapter?

IKH, I hadn't seen your offer to swap it out, but at this point I am wondering if it would do any good.

Maybe by a quirk of fate the "felon's" adapter matched the crooked threads exactly...
