I haven't been in Dicks since they decided they were not sellng ar's anymore. I will never spend another dime in their stores. As a community, gun owners need to stick together in situations like this and stand on principal. i agree 100%, bass pro is the same to me also |

Kneejerk reactions have consequences. They are so true to their name. A friend of mine said that when he was there in February, one of the gun counter guys was berating about how all of the gun nuts were hoarding ammo for no reason. He could not understand it. |
| I understand everyone trying to boycott dicks, but you know if you needed some ammo and you knew they had some, you all would go there to buy it. Hell, I'd be first in line if I could. Cause if your like me, I like to shoot more then I love to hate dicks. You could go there by strictly ammo and not look like a traitor to your online buddies. |

I keep enough in to where I don't have to go to Dick's. I''d miss a few weekends of range time before heading there for ammo. I like to make sure myself, and my kids can go shoot in the future, more than I like to go shoot today. This is where principles come in. If you rush to be the first in line, when they offer up a bit of ammo, you let them know that whatever they decide to do to appease the housewives tomorrow will have no consequence for them, nor will it for other companies choosing to do the same. I know you like to shoot a lot, you should try shooting yourself in the foot less, though. |

I can purchase ammo in other locations

I was personally very grateful for the opening of the Cumming Academy Sports because well before the AR15 debacle I'd come to understand just much of a douchebag type org Dicks was. They have quite possibly the worst rewards program with policies that literally rob the value of your saved up points over time. That combined with their prices and shitty service had me going elsewhere when I had something to purchase. They personify the name of the chain to it's fullest extent. |

Well I came I late in the shooting game, only been doing it fit about 2 yrs. So yeah now I try to stock up like the rest of y'all. So I have to buy where available. If I was sitting on tens thousands rounds then that be a differ sorry. I'm in the take it up the butt position until then.
I only have around 2000 22lr so I'm no where close. |

| I dont buy from them even though I have a 1st cousin that is a store manager and my employer builds there stores all over the country. What turned me off to them was I was looking at kayaks and found one I liked that they had on sale then found the exact same model on Amazon for $204.37 less! I emailed them about it asking if they could be more competitive and get some absolute bs reply from someone there saying how competitive there prices are and the value of shopping in an actual store over online. Still wouldn't come off the price and all I GAF about is what I have to pay on retail I could care less where I get it. Dick can go down on himself as far as im concerned. |

No. Not for guns, not for ammo, not for knives or camping gear or a north face jacket or new running shoes or a gift card as a Christmas present for my wife's uncle who likes golf. Never. Again. |

Again. there are some guys like this. i worked at dicks from april-august of this year and i couldnt count how many guys came to the gun counter fussing about how they pulled ARs. I would chat with them about it, and then they'd leave with their 3 boxes of ammo. |

I now pay a little more, but I sleep better knowing that I am not giving money to a company who shits on something I hold so dear. |

I don't expect everyone to change their shopping habits just because I decided to no longer do business with a certain company. I'm not looking for agreement from any of you as your each your own person and are free to make your own decisions.
I do however find it funny that people compromise their principles by doing business with entities that trample on truth, common sense and our Liberties all in the name of profits and what they perceive the mainstream marketplace believes. If our founding fathers felt this way we wouldn't have our Constitution because when the Revolution started they were roughly one percent of our population in the colonies. they would have just given up. I choose to not do business with entities who waffle in the face of pressure because they are not worthy of my hard earned cash. |

Dicks isn't denying you the right to buy a black rifle any more than Home Depot is. Sorry. You can be melodramatic about it, but I bet there are assholes in charge of 50-75% of the businesses you patronize that don't agree with your views. As I said, I don't go out of my way to buy anything there, but I don't see them as any different than walmart, academy, etc. If there's an academy nearby, I go there because they are 10-25% cheaper on most of the non gun related stuff. Something like 25-50% of my consumer goods expendtures are split between amazon and costco. I am pretty certain neither would go shooting with me. |

My business with respect to firearms rests with the gun stores in my community. I haven't bought ammo from Walmart or any other major chain for many years. I'm comfortable that the owners of these local stores are not hiding behind politically correct banners of only selling sporting weapons when liberal pressure is applied.
Furthermore, the larger companies in the firearms industry that took a stand in the face of this pressure like Magpul, Larue Tactical, Barrett and many others who recently adopted policies to restrict firearm sales to law enforcement to only those which private citizens could legally purchase deserve our business and support much more than the companies who choose profits over principle. Call it melodramatic if you wish but I frankly don't understand how you see my comment as that. Your comment suggests that we just lye down and take it because most retailers, if not all are making similar decisions. While I understand your comment and know other companies are making these kinds of irresponsible decisions, I choose to make choices to not do business with them when these actions come to light. If more people lived by this principle then more companies would quit making decisions like this. It's really very simple. As far as Dicks not affecting my ability to own a black rifle. I completely disagree. If they cave in to pressure to leave the black rifle market they have potentially affected my ability to own one. They may not have been successfull at outlawing them for our use but they aided the cause by giving it energy or momentum by not calling the effort ridiculous and unjust. |
