Taking the fam to Disney next week. On the website it says no weapons. How is the safety there? Should I be worried at all. Should I try to deep conceal a small 380? What are your feelings HTF?

I went 2 years ago I left mine in the car in the safe under seat.  Disney was great no issues other than you walk 100 miles stand in line 12 hours and ride 3 rides.  Its not like 6 flags with all the hoodlems running around.  My 3 year old loved it and we are supposed to go back for a week for Thanksgiving.  Also just took a 7 night Disney cruise that was awesome other than the price.

They have security, if they notice you carrying they will ask you to go put it in the car. I've heard they're pretty good at picking out concealed weapons so don't try to carry a Glock 21 owb with a t shirt or anything.  I haven't been in a while but I remember the park being fine, the only concern would be the walk to and from the car.

Also note that under FL law if you carry there you're not breaking the law, just pissing off Disney. Just don't end up like this guy.

I have been there many times and never felt like my family was not safe.  The mouse keeps a watchful eye on you and your cash.

It's Disneyland.   I don't put a lot of places on my "probably would not make any effort to carry" list, but Disneyland would be on there.  Never thought about it, just locked my carry gun in the car and had a great time every time.

If you can do Disney on Thanksgiving Day, you will ride everything, and never, ever wait in line :)

Went for a week in June with my wife and 3 year old son. We stayed in one of the resorts, but never felt unsafe. I didn't bring knife of pistol as we flew down there. Even if you gt caught in the leaving the park crowd, Mickey will be watching.

Sorry, I grew up in Southern California.   They are ALLLLL Disneyland to me, be they in Anaheim, Florida, or Paris.    :)  I assumed Florida.  ;)

I was amazed my first time at magic kingdom in disney world, that I knew my way around, as it is so similar to the original in Anaheim, where I had a yearly resident pass.

Actually, I think my wife has us staying in a resort and got us some sort of ride to and from the parks. Don't know if that helps or not.

We're going in a week.

If I were someone who really wanted to crush the soul of the US, I would do something terrible iin a place like this. You think people were distraught over the WTT and Sandy Hook, imagine an attack @ WDW.

I'll be carrying my XDS IWB except when at the pool.

Long ride to take a chance getting put out of the parks. Never saw any reason to worry anywhere on Disney property. Take a chance. Columbus did and worked out ok for him.

I've thought the same thing before. However Disney/Universal have their own security and I wouldn't be surprised if they were prepared for such things behind the scenes.

No reason not to carry though.

Disney is on the ball with security and medical needs.  Really, really on the ball.  There is far more to their parks than you will see.

I have been to Disney east a few times and carried a microtech I carried a traditional knife in Disney West.  I believe that it would have been pretty easy to carry a 380 IWB  at both coasts, I do not remember MDs or wands.  I hope it is a comfortable holster, if your kids want to ride many of the popular rides you will be sweating your ass off in line for several hours this time of the year.
I hate the Disney parks in the daytime in the summer.  I like six flags much better, not nearly as long lines and more shade.
There are lots of criminal looking people at six flags and none that I remember at Disney.

Biggest thing at Disney is if you set it down and forget it you will probably never see it again. I had a camera stolen off the table at Hoop de do review and exwifes sister had her small day bag/wallet taken when left on a ride even though it was notice almost immediately.
I started changing camera cards often and  keeping them close to me after that. Lost two days worth of pics by not changing out the card.

The thing to think about is that DW's business is to keep you happy and entertained, as well as take as much money from you as possible. I know if I don't feel safe I'm not going to stick around and spend money. I have heard that DW has some top notch security.

I was there last fall. Didnt even bother carrying. Did keep it in my room at the resort and off Disney i carried, but security is some of the best in the world.

On a side note the week after thanksgiving was when we went at for the whole week we might have waited 10 minutes for any ride. Awesome weather too...

Normal hotel type safes with a key instead of a code. Just remember, someone else there has a key to it.

It is big enough for a full size.

Unfortunately, that ride was not working when I went there the last time.

Been to Disney4 times. Never felt like I needed to carry!! So if your staying in a resort put it in ur safe and enjoy!! Too many parents like ur self enjoying the place to big of a thug hangout to expensive to just hangout. And if your not staying at resort then hide it good.
Hope you got fastpass and if your staying at Disney you should have extra magic hrs. Pm me ur plans and ill tell ya how to hit the park to ride the most!!

I went last summer and carried my Benchmade 910S (clipped it behind my belt buckle before walking thru the gate so the clip wouldn't be visible) and a S&W 638 in a DeSantis Cozy Partner. Didn't see any metal detectors or wands, but they did check a few bags iirc.

Did the same thing at Lego Land in FL, but it was a Kahr CM9 instead of the 638.

Been going for years, never carried in the park, usually leave my carry in the room safe, no problems, but where we stay on site only has room service 1-2 times while we are there (DVC). We even snuck in a cooler full of baby cockatiels once. Even carried a 2 day old African Gray through the park for a week, almost got caught one time...the parent birds would eat their young and the trip was planned with children and grand children. Said baby must be fed 1 @ 2 hrs, with a little ingenuity, we figured a way. Anyway, we always have felt safe and walk to Hollywood Studios and Epcot from our regular resort
