This week the wait time for an examiner has started getting longer and longer.

The average wait time has increased to 20 minutes in the afternoon when the west coast gears up. That's nothing compared to the 1.5 hour wait a few weeks ago but it's still a long time to have numerous impatient customers milling around the shop.

What in the hell is everybody buying..??

Does anybody have anything left to sell..??

My inventory is starting to build up compared to a few weeks ago but it's still embarrassingly low.

Internet sales and transfers are still booming.  I sold almost my entire collection in the past two weeks and shpped a bunch of stuff all over the US.  Each FFL that got it had to do the paperwork and background checks on them.  So that must be part of the backlog.

There are still thousands of ARs on Gunbroker daily for sale and there is no sign of their sales slowing down.

Stopped by one of the gun stores here in town today and talked with the owner for about 20 minutes.  He was tellling me that their whole sale price for ars has only increased a few percentage points from what they were paying a few months before the craze.  i just wish all of these first time ar buyers would stop buying up everthing at retarded prices, this is causing the increased prices more than anything . most of the guys i know that own ars already havent bought any new ar's.

TD, so you have to sit on the phone to do this?

Are you shipping as an individual to an FFL or using a LGS?  Last time I shipped a rifle I had to make a special trip to the UPS hub at Pleasantdale Rd.  Any tips on shipping or where to get a box to ship a rifle?

Read that Nov 2012 was 2M guns sold, Dec was 2.7M.

There is a lot of money in the pockets of the tens of thousands of people in the supply chain above us lowly Retail customers.  Once they run out of money and space in their safes, more will flow to the anus of the supply chain where we feed.

The surprise to me was the shortage of BCGs.  The 30 rd mags are no surprise, since the mag ban is WAY more likely than a rifle ban.  Of all the parts, that has proven to me (in my recent quest) to be the one thing really unobtainable.

I called in 2 today about an hour apart, say about 4 & 5 o'clock this afternoon. Both times the phone was answered almost immediately, but on the second NICS check I was sent to the "further review" que and was on hold for about 10 minutes, or a little less. I found that wait to be just slightly longer than reasonable, but certainly WAY better than the 3+ hours I waited in early January before throwing in the towel and hanging up to go home for the day...  (An hour late, I might add!)

I wonder if the background check required for ammo in NY state is impacting the wait times at all? I can well imagine dealers in NY using NICS for their ammo checks until they get a different system in place.

Screw a buncha yankees, messing it up for us constitution loving southerners!!!!!

Just picked up my 590A1 today from Ed's Public Safety (pawn shop)

Fill out the 4473 and leave with my weapon, of course it helps to have a Georgia Weapon's license.

I wish Colorado could go direct to NICS.  We have a very retarded CBI check that is basically taking the same info and punching it into NICS.  Also, there is no exemption for a CCL out here.

Right now, the wait on a background check is the lowest it's been in almost 6 weeks... at a blistering 7 days.

Makes me miss the gun buying process in GA.
