I was there, but only for a day.  I only spent time at maybe a half dozen booths.  Cruised through dozens of others.

Armalite now has a MATCH AR50.  They also have a AR30 in 300 win mag that is basically a mini AR50.  I was told the recoil is very mild due to the muzzle break.

One company(can't remember their name) is coming out with plastic belt buckles in the shape and style of the nice buckles that are all the rage now for duty type belts.  (Talon tactical and Jones Tactical are a few of the makers of belts)  Price will be about 1/3 the cost of the Aluminum buckles, 500# breaking strength.  (I think I have their card if anyone is interested - IM me)

All manufacturers of anything related to black rifles are swamped.  Time estimates to get caught up with the current orders on the books ranged from 6 months to 18 months.  The manufacturers are pushing their workers as hard as they can to crank out the product.  The current political system makes it very risky to spend millions on new equipment to upgrade their capacity.   If your machines and workers are at 100%, who is going to take time to shut down a line and re-tool for a new product?  Yes, there are some new things out there, but when they will be available is anyones guess.  RRA has some new hand guards that look very nice, but there is still no date on when the AR47 or the polymer 1911 will be shipping.  The Magpul booth was swamped.  I was really wanting to catch the answer to "are you going to make 10 rounders for NY?" question, but I didn't stick around there long enough.

I was there for day one.  It was crowded and people were more aggressive to the manufacturers than I had seen in the past.  (Basically, I saw dealers treating the manufacturers the way joe public is treating them in their shop - quit the role reversal)  When I say this... I mean there was much less small talk and it was just a cut to the chase... When and how many can I get, can you move me up the line...?

I also saw several LEO's ordering direct from the manufacturers - not for their department, but for their own use.  And we all know... LEO orders get priority.

It will be interesting to hear an AAR from IKH.  He was in meetings the day I was there.  (no root beer for you this year... carry on luggage only)

If you have something on order.... be patient.  Waiting is the new standard.  I'm getting good better at it.  1 yr on a rifle, 8 months on a stamp, 7 months on a stamp, 1 month on an Aimpoint, 1 month for some gunbroker deals....
