Well yeah, rape was a bad choice of words, but still- me and my buddies can't go shooting without buying ammo that everyone hoarding and trying sell me .223 tula ammo at $1.50 a rd. of course I didn't buy it, but that don't mean I can't come here to complain.

Didn't know anyone here named the gooch, thats pretty funny.

Thought I was kinda helping  by wanting to buy one and help the family out, but if I buy it from a guy in the EE, I'm sure he will sell it for a profit, and I'm pretty sure hes not going to give that profit back to the family is what I was saying.

I think geiselle would have been better off auctioning these triggers to help the family instead of just selling them for $100 each.

I agree that its a bad idea to do a very limited production. I'd rather see an indefinite amount of them available with a portion of the proceeds going to the family. That way anybody can get one, its not too cumbersome for geiselle, and they don't end up as auctioned off collectibles rather than tools.

I want one!! After the shot show if yall see these for sale or if one of you going will pick one up for me I will appreciate it!!

The trigger looks nice and I'm glad it's going to a good cause. I'm sure Geissele had a reason for only doing 100 of them as part of the tribute.  Unfortunately I'm sure some will end up for sale at a profit.  Hopefully those that choose to do that will donate the difference to the Noveske's.  Saw a comment on the Noveske Shooting Teams fb about taking the pic of John (that was engraved on the hammer), nice personal touch.  RIP.

I'm curious, since this trigger is a select fire model, can it still be put in a regular AR as long as there are no other M16 parts?  I'm not familiar with that portion of the law, I just stay away from M16 parts altogether.

The Geissele Super Select-Fire (SSF®) Trigger is a select-fire combat trigger that Geissele Automatics developed for the U.S. Special Operations Community. In semi-automatic mode, the SSF performs like a match-grade two-stage trigger that allows precise and accurate trigger control. In fully-automatic mode, the SSF performs like a single-stage trigger with a smooth, continuous trigger pull and abrupt hammer release.

All NFA rules apply to the sale of the SSF trigger.

I'm curious, do you hold the same philosophy about how much ammo someone 'needs' as you do about someone only 'needing 5- 30 rnd mags'?  Do you think there is a set amount of ammo someone 'need's too?

Those that have "hoarded ammo" pre-planned for price fluctuations are not worried about being able to get ammo.  They can go shoot anytime or sign up for a class requiring 600 rnds in one day and not worry about replenishing their supply.  I've never understood the guys that buy ammo on the way to the range to shoot.  Usually they end up overpaying since they need it right then.

I say this not to be an a$$, but to provide just another reason someone 'needs' a certain amount of ammo/mags.  Next time, don't be caught off guard, pre-plan.  Then you can just go to your closet for ammo

Well I really don't think that Bill gives a shit what you think. He doesn't come to your job and tell you how salt to put on the fries now does he?

FYI, word on the street is that they are $250, which is a deal in and of itself as SSF's sell for $320.ALL proceeds will benefit the family. Proceeds, not profits. Bill is essentially donating the triggers out of his own pocket.

I'm sure that is too much money for you to donate to the family of a fallen industry partner though.

For those of you who don't get a trigger you can still donate at this  Link

Hey, I am not looking for a fight.

I am in the habit of giving money to people that need it, which was the reason for my questions.  From where I sit, it looks like he and his family have a whole lot more money than I do, but I could be wrong, and you seem to know more about this than most, so that was why I asked the questions.

And for those that have a family, but no life insurance, please, please, please, get some.  Its pretty darn cheap if you are in any kind of decent health.  Last time I looked you can get $500,000 for about $200-225 a year.

Call USAA, or maybe try selectquote.com.  I got mine when I went through the whole estate planning deal.  Got a will, financial power of attorney, and a health care power of attorney from an attorney friend of mine.  Then I met with an investment and insurance guy from Nothwestern Mutual that asked some simple questions and ran some numbers to figure out how much I should get.  He also sold insurance, so I am pretty sure I got more insurance than I need, but that's ok.

The questions were pretty basic:
How much do you make? $XXX
Do you want to pay off the house (and all other debts)? Yes
Do you want your wife to work while the kids are in school (under 18)? No
Do you want to pay for your kids college?  Yes (FYI, the only way my kids are going to get a free ride though college is through scholarships or if I die before they go to college, because if I am alive, I have other plans for my money! :)
Do you want your kids to have the option of going to private grade/high school school?  Yes

Then just add it all up and make some wild-ass guess about inflation and BAM, I got a number.

And that was probably more personal info than I would normally put out on the internet.  Oh well.

Term life insurance is the ONLY type of life insurance you should look into. Its incredibly cheap and a commodity. Any of the internet sites you find on google will give you the prices based on some info you provide.

Many insurance salesmen will try to talk you into investment type life insurance which is ALWAYS a ripoff regardless of your situation. They make massive commissions on it.

I think I pay 450 or so for $1M in coverage.

I am not going to say its always a ripoff, but its probably not the right thing for the vast majority of folks.  When your net worth starts getting above a couple million, then it appears that some life insurance policies can have some good tax benefits.  FYI, I am NOT speaking from experience, just some of what I have read.

And for those that have a family, but no life insurance, please, please, please, get some.  Its pretty darn cheap if you are in any kind of decent health.  Last time I looked you can get $500,000 for about $200-225 a year.

Do you recommend a certain company to call for a quote?  I need to call USAA.  I do have life insurance, but am overdue for updating my policy.

I used Zander Insurance.  It is who Dave Ramsey pimps.  The actual coverage was from SBLI.  I got a $1M 20 year term life policy for $410 per year.  We have also had good luck with Guy Parmenter at Parmenter Insurance in Cartersville.
