I have a ring that my mom left after she passed that I have no attachment to
and I'd like to use the funds for a project.
The gold isnt hard to sell but it has a 3/4 ct diamond in it that I dont know how to sell.
Any one have any ideas?

Find an appraiser local to you and tell them you need an appraisal for insurance purposes.  Then take it to jewelry dealers until you get an offer that is close enough to the appraised value to satisfy you.  You probably won't be 100% satisfied, but you can get close.

You will hit a home run if you get 1/2 of appraised value.

Ask the fellow that writes the appraisal to give you 85% of the appraised value and see what happens.

He will make an easy 15% profit when he resales the ring at the vale he placed on it.

BTW:The market is literally flooded with smaller diamonds of 1 carat or less. There is little demand for stones less than a carat however the market is red hot for 1.5 carat and larger stones.

The diamond is likely worth 500-1000 depending on quality. An appraisal won't get you anywhere. It'll be 4x the real value. Take it to one of our trusted pawn shops.
