So I'll preface this by saying I just completed and passed that ASA 101,103 and 104 classes.
Can anyone suggest a way for me to get some inexpensive crew time so I can log hours and refine my new skill set. I don't want to let too much time lapse before I start logging hours.
Thanks for the help guys

Not around Brunswick. You may have to go north a bit.

Where did you take the classes?

Lake lanier every wednsday night has a race out of lake lanier sailing club. i usually show up and crew on a j24...sometimes i've entered while on the lake in my hobie or hunter, but alas- thats your best bet. Also lake lanier sailing academy where my father teaches BKB101...some of those guys race

Have you bought a boat or are thinking about buyingone? I know a Melges thats for sale for a good price, that would be interesting

I took the class in PCB it was the closest class that worked with my schedule. My dad has been enamored  by sailing sInce before his midlife crisis. I took the sailing class with him so we could spend time together since I only get to see him a couple times a year. My dad is planning on buying something around 30 feet to meet his needs in the next year or two. I won't be able to afford to buy the Beneteau Oceanis 48 I'm lusting after for a looooooong time.
I guess so far it sounds like I'll have to check out the sailing clubs around lake Lanier and maybe Allatona. I don't see driving to  Hartwell on a regular basis.

Alatoona is not a good lake to sail on. Its to narrow so the wind doesnt build. I have NO idea what the AYC is located there.  As far as Lanier goes, it sucks too. Only time worth the drive (for me at least) is October-March (cold weather gear on) as the winds are pretty decent. During the spring/summer, just check windfinder before you plan a trip up there.

You're more than welcome to go sailing with me!

I used to go to Fla and sail on my moms friends boat when I was younger, where I learned. Wed just spend a week or so cruising the coast or go out in the gulf, keys, whatever.  North Ga isnt the best place to enjoy sailing, so that dream has sorta slipped as I no longer know anyone with a boat.  haha
