A friend is driving up Wednesday and wants to tour a few well stocked gun stores in North GA. I am thinking to start with Cherokee Gun & Pawn head East to Forsyth County Pawn then North to Dawsonville Gun and turn East to that gun store in Gainsville (forgot name - very small but interesting inventory) and then North to Guns & Gear in Lavonia.

I have never been to Cherokee. Good selection? Any subs? I have heard good things about the place.
Does Lavonia still have a fair selection of FAs? Does -anyone- else carry a selection of FAs?
Within reasonable distance of those shops did I miss one that would have subs?

Cherokee's selection is not that of Dawnsonville, but the employees are pretty cool. Prices seem pretty reasonable.

If you're going to be in Gainesville, you can hit two or three more with a ride over to Braselton on GA 53.  Best of the bunch is Dixie Ammo; great group of guys and the best selection around.

Cherokee is a real favorite, mainly for the people who are friendly and helpful.  Good selection, great prices.  Prob worth a stop at Big Woods Goods and Hi Caliber, both in Holly Springs close together.  Selection at both.

Yes, and an indoor range.

In Gainesville, there is Georgia Gun Store. They've moved to a larger store with more inventory. Also The Foxhole. They don't have a ton of inventory, but do have a few NFA goodies.
