I am going to postpone the class until early October. Hopefully once everyone gets kids settled in school I can get a few more folks to attend. This will likely be last class I will be putting on in the Atlanta area for quite some time. Like the rest of my classes I have put on the class is free. I only ask that if you say you are going to show up, then show up. If you Feel free to bring your spouse/teenage son/daughter with you. If you have attended one of my classes before, feel free to attend this one as well. The class will be held on Saturday August 18. We will start at 9:30AM and class will run generally run 5-6 hours, but we have the space all day. Class size will be limited to 20 people. The first hour will be CPR. This is not a comprehensive resuscitation class. I'll be covering the meat and potatoes of what works and why. In addition to practicing on manikins we will even spend some time practicing inserting airways and using a bag-valve mask. The rest of the day will be spent covering trauma. I like to give just enough anatomy and pathophysiology for what I'm teaching to make sense, without boiling your mind. Unlike other classes I am going to spend more time on the hands on side of stopping bleeding, splinting extremities, etc. I will have a couple of different style of commercial tourniquets available as well as multiple styles of bandages. We are going to practicing cutting clothes off, so bring some clothes that we can put on the manikins. Here is what you need: -Pen and paper -old clothes for cutting up -bring a lunch Class location: Georgia Piedmont Technical College Building C. Take I-20 east from atlanta and exit on Alcovy Road.
