This has probably been brought up before, I couldn't find it though... Does anyone know how to look up any info about my grandfather's time spent in the navy?
Try to have as much info as possible. Yrs of service, DOB, military branch, etc... Just a heads up, the was a fire (in the 70's I think) that destroyed a lot of records, so even if they find some info, they may not have all of it.

Thanks for posting the question and answer. Got me motivated to request my father's (Korea) and grandfather's (WW I) service records. I have my grandfather's discharge papers, and it thanks him for his service during "the Wold War."
