Learn of this early this morning, as it was my nephews friend.   These type of issues are why I have mixed emotions about the gun ages.  My intented is not to debate this topic on this thread.  I do see and agree on both sides of this topic.   "I" didn't personally know this kid, but I do know he was very much liked, and there are a lot of young men and women devastated over his death.   My son is 8 years old, and shoots with me often, as well as shoots everything I shoot.   I beat Gun safety into his head day and night.   Sure most everyone on here already does this, but I can't stress this enough.  If you already do this, please pass on the importance of this to someone who may not.   These kids made 3 deadly mistakes and 1 paid with his life.   #1 bringing a gun out when it had no business being brought out in the first place.  # Taking possession of a firearm and not checking/knowing its current state #3 Pointing this gun in a location that was not meant to be destroyed (in this case, appears to me at self).

Sorry, I know 99% of you on this board already know and do this.  Just something that I can't imagine not being "second nature".

One of my best friends in the 5th grade was killed when his older brother shot him in the chest with an unloaded shotgun.  He was trying to scare my friend into doing the dishes.
