I don't see anything here, but I want to say that if you're any fan of the military, especially the NSW guys you need to see this movie.  The action scenes are outstanding with awesome use of real equipment and vehicles.  It was pretty neat to also see the Nightforce Mil-Dot on the big screen popping bad guys.

For those that have seen it, the SWCC boats coming in was one of my favorite parts.

In short: GET OFF THE INTERNET AND GO SEE THIS MOVIE.

Going to see it tomorrow. If I remember correctly from a making of for this movie the scene with the SWCC boats were using live ammo and had after shot of one of the trucks

It's a great movie.  I love that they use SEALs.  I also love that they used their real families.  Outstanding movie.

I was not ready for that myself. But from what The Bald Monk told me it was tribute for Monsuor's actions.

You seriously need to quit stalking me...

Loved the movie. The talk was as best as it gets without a lot of Hollywood fluff. Some familiar actors to some folks but otherwise just a bunch of operators Doug their thing. My actual favorite part was the senior chief moment...

Great movie!

Some of the good quotes:

Senior Chief checks his watch "Bullshit filters full"

"What the FUCK!!"  "You got shot in the face your a hard mother fucker"
Question though as I know nothing about how these HSLD guys work but I would have expected cans on all the guns.  Only one canned gun that I saw.  Is that normal?  If so why?  Or just hollywood.

Yes it is normal. not everyone uses silencers. The only time I actually saw silencers in action on a massive scale was when guys went hunting for stray dogs to prevent rabies outbreaks. And the photo in my avatar...

That is soo true.  Everyone in our movie did the same thing.  I sat there taking it all in.. definitely made my appreciation for our guys that much more.

The movie had a pretty slow start which had me wondering but it picked up and managed to come together pretty well. The rest of the movie wasn't up to par with the action, none of which can be blamed on the SEALs as they are not actors. I thought it could have been directed in a better way to avoid that shortcoming.

I know that this film shouldn't be viewed on the same plane as Restrepo and The Battle for Marjah documentaries but I felt that they do a better job. They were more interesting and for lack of a better word entertaining, which of course is due to the authenticity.

Wife and I went to the 2:45pm show in Hiram.

When we came out there was a nice looking lady in her 60's or more
in charge of a wheelchair with a very, very old man sitting in it.  He was
wearing a Navy Blue breaker that had:
UDT    SEAL
U.S. Navy SEAL Emblem
Association

on the top left breast.

I went up and took his right hand in both of mine and said, "God Bless".
He nodded and moaned something and the lady said, "Thank you".

Wished I was smart enough to have asked his name and rank.

Any reason to this?  I would think they would offer a huge advantage.

Went and saw it tonight. Will pick it up when it comes out on dvd. My wife loved the movie and said it stressed her out considering not knowing what was about to happen. When the SWCC boats showed up and the mini guns started rolling she kept saying "get em, get em" louder and louder. This was good for me since she never gets excited about an action movie.
ETA: At the end of the movie everyone in the theater stood up applauding the movie. A friend of mine went to see it with his wife at another theater and said the same happened there.

Suppressors do offer a great advantage, some times. Sometimes they serve as a hinderance. Just depends on the mission. Most suppressors add an average of 4.5 - 5.5" inches to a weapon, thats an obvious drawback. Sometimes in combat you just dont give a damn about being quiet either, once the first round breaks the barrel comms go to shit anyways. Supressors offer a great advantage but even in AFG in Dec 01 I saw very few HSLD guys using them. Most of the snipers had them but the non sniper ODA's, CCT, PJ's, Recon, SEALS etc, even the CIA DA guys carried commando M4's or some variation un suppressed.

On a separate note this movie was great, nice to see real equipment and real tactics by real operators. The one thing that stuck out in my mind that I've never seen were the reload commands that they used, we preach this at our agency, and did in the military, but Ive never seen it on the big screen. Overall a great pic......def adding it to the war collection.

Effing Awesome Movie.

Even the wife liked it. Although she cried through like the last 10 minutes of it.

Probably one of the most realistic movies out there on the topic. I'm sure the COD crowd will come out of the wookwork with "inaccuracies" but as a whole it was an astounding effort.
