Got this from Campaign for Liberty. Call the committee members and demand a vote!
Dear Brian, Do you want your representatives and paid lobbyists trading your 2nd Amendment rights in secret back room deals to curry favor with ‘leadership’ and appease anti-gun groups? Or do you want your representatives to take a clean, up-or-down vote on “Constitutional Carry” now? This past Monday marked the 20th legislative day down at the Georgia capitol. A full half of the session has passed without a single vote on the “Georgia Constitutional Carry Act of 2012.” If representatives sit on their hands for the next 10 legislative days they will effectively kill “Constitutional Carry” for this session. Sources at the capitol tell us that is exactly what Rep. Ann Purcell and certain other members of the Public Safety and Homeland Security committee want. Thanks to your phone calls and emails we had the opportunity to speak in support of “Constitutional Carry” at a hearing for the House Public Safety and Homeland Security committee recently. But giving testimony at a hearing won’t change Georgia law. Only roll-call votes by the legislature will enact “Constitutional Carry.” At the hearing, Committee Chairwoman Rep. Ann Purcell stated that she hadn't gotten any calls about the bill. She gave this in reply to a question about blocking a roll call vote. Really, Rep. Purcell? Please CALL and then email Rep. Ann Purcell and demand a roll-call vote on Constitutional Carry in committee! Rep. Ann Purcell - [email protected] 404-656-5139 | 912-826-5465 Leave voice mail. Leave messages. Demand to speak directly with Rep. Ann Purcell. Don't take "no" for an answer. Follow-up with an email reminding Rep. Purcell that in-action is the same thing as a vote against your 2nd Amendment rights. Once you have contacted Rep. Purcell, please take the time to contact these other members of the committee and give them the same message: We demand a roll-call vote on “Constitutional Carry!” Rep. Darlene Taylor - [email protected] 404-656-0177 | 229-224-9508 | [email protected] Rep. Jay Neal - [email protected] 404-656-5138 | 423-412-3292 Rep. Billy Maddox - [email protected] 404-656-3947 Rep. Billy Horne - [email protected] 404-656-0287 | 770-683-4676 | [email protected] Rep. Doug Collins - [email protected] 404-651-7737 | 770-983-2223 | [email protected] Rep. Bob Hanner - [email protected] 404-656-7859 | 229-623-2841 Rep. Willie Talton - [email protected] 404-656-5116 | 478-923-6252 We have also heard that the bill’s sponsor, Rep. Jason Spencer, has been getting a lot of pressure from “leadership” for standing tall on “Constitutional Carry.” You see, Brian, politicians in Georgia know that they have to claim to support the 2nd Amendment in order to get elected. But they despise any attempt to actually put them on the record, especially if it would mean giving up some of their control over you and I in the name of liberty. That is why I am asking you to contact Rep. Jason Spencer and encourage him to continue fighting for a roll-call vote on the “Georgia Constitutional Carry Act of 2012.” Rep. Jason Spencer - [email protected] 404-656-0126 | 912-541-0243 Thank you for your continued support in this fight! Yours in Liberty, Nathan Adams Interim State Coordinator Georgia Campaign for Liberty P.S. Don't forget to sign our "Constitutional Carry" petition and share this email with all of your friends and family. P.P.S. Contact Rep. Ann Purcell at 404-656-5139 and demand a roll-call vote on the Georgia Constitutional Carry Act of 2012. |

Do you want your representatives and paid lobbyists trading your 2nd Amendment rights in secret back room deals to curry favor with ‘leadership’ and appease anti-gun groups? WTH is this talking about? What paid lobbyists? For whom are these paid lobbyists working? What trade is being made on your second amendment rights to curry favor with leadership and appease anti-gun groups? What anti-gun groups? Georgia has anti-gun groups that need to be appeased?
I hate it when people write generalities like this. Does anybody know what Nathan Adams is talking about? Paid lobbyists are on the public record, so it seems like this would be an easy matter to inform us about, unless he is just making it all up. |

If this is the bill that allows concealed carry in Georgia without a permit, I really don't see the value. I mean, you will have NO Reciprocity with any other state unless you have a permit in the state of Georgia.
I also don't like their word choice with backdoor deals and other nonsense. That sounds like more NRA type fear mongering. I am all for the National Carry bill that is floating aroudn out there that would allow us to carry in 49 states if your state of residence has a permit and you have one. That makes a lot of sense. But paying the small fee to have a permit and getting all the great reciprocity in other states is much better than not having a permit and carrying concealed. That is my opinion and I am sure many of you may disagree. |
