GPTC in Covington has had the EMS grant extended for at least another year. You can take EMT and Paramedic along with core courses for free. Tuition, fees, books, basically everything except the gas to get there and application fee. Also it looks like they may be having a 2 night a week Georgia POST certification class this fall which is unique. |

Keep in mind that the demand to actually stay in and pass the course is high. If it's not your full blown passion, it's hard stuff. The instructors there are serious about upholding a VERY high standard for the program. It's where I took paramedic.
If you're doing it for fun, consider that the slots are limited, and some people whose careers depend upon that education might miss out because you wanted to learn about something you never intend to use. If you're not going to use it, you will NOT retain it. I saw a lot of people drop or fail out of EMT class because they either weren't serious or were just dumb. If that's you, there are far better options to get practical medical knowledge that is actually tailored toward how a layperson would actually go about treating an emergent condition. |
