[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Color help.

I know colors sometimes don't show up the best on a computer screen, but I need a little help. Does the stock look a little purple to anyone else. The rail covers, and BUIS came out the color I was looking for which is navy blue.

last pic may have the slightest tint of purple. But it's really more blue than anything else.

The rail covers and BUIS started out as foliage, the stock started out as FDE.

The rails look like a royal blue and the stock looks navy.

The stock looks like it has a hint of purple. What did you coat with?

It's RIT dye. I dyed a scrap FDE piece and then scraped it to see how deep the dye penetrated and was actually pretty impressed. It does penetrate enough to hide minor scratches.

Hard to say not seeing it in person, but even if it is purple, if I'm looking at that thing from greater than 8" in an every day setting, I'm probably not going to think "Purple."

It would help if we had some comparison, if it were photographed next to something that is black (the rifle, maybe?).
