I'm thinking about taking some of the NRA Instructor courses and I don't know why but I'd like to hear others thoughts on this. I'm way too busy and quite honestly feel I have a lot of growth to make in my own shooting
ability to try and offer any real scheduled/ongoing training but would enjoy offering something at my club for kids or newbies that just need a little direction. That's the jist of it, any instructors care to give a little direction on this, I would appreciate it. |

Yes BIT is a required prerequisite for any instructor level course and as such is often included in the Basic Pistol Instructor course. Just be careful of choosing a training counselor for your certification. Just as with anything, there are those who are good and those who just operate diploma mills cranking out people that have no real business teaching other people. Having witnessed this first hand with a TC that passed a student that was completely clueless and unsafe, I'm cautious to recommend anybody without knowing said TC is worthy sending others to them. ScottV is someone who comes to mind as recommended. I believe he's on arf. Good luck and be safe. |
