I need my FSP shaved down on my Colt LE6920. If anyone here has done it before and has the tools at their home I'd be more than willing to bring my rifle over, have you do the work and compensate you for your time. If not, does anyone know where I can get this done and not pay an insane amount of money? I'm trying to install a DD M4A1 Ris II rail if that helps.
Was thinking about taking it to Bullseye in Lawrenceville, I know they have gunsmithing services and I only live about 40 minutes away (Newton County). |
| Try David's Gun Room instead. They do really nice gunsmithing work. But get it in writing on when it will be done. If you leave on a handshake, it can be a while before they get to it. My friend a Gwinnett police officer broght in a shotgun to be refinished. Two months later they hadn't even gotten around to it so it took it elsewhere. However, if you get them to commit to a date in writing, it shouldn't be very long and they do good work. |

Quoted: Do you know a ball park cost? It will take about 45 mins and I would do it myself if I had a dremel and such, but I don't. Definitely don't want to pay 75 bucks for an hour of work. Where are you located? I have a dremel you can borrow. I am just out of cutting wheels. They aren't to pricy. But send me an IM you are more than welcome to use it. |

I got a cheap knock off dremel at harbor freight and regretted it. If I were to do it again I would get the angle grinder instead.
I don't know about the OP but when I was putting on my hand guard I looked into low profile gas blocks and one of my friends who does 3 gun competitions told me that nothing stays in place like the FSP with tapered pins. |

$10 4.5" angle grinder from harbor freight, an included cit off wheel, a $3 flap disk, and some black paint. took about 4 min. the flap disc is really good and sanding off any tool marks from the cut off wheel. Harbor freight stuff is junk and not worth buying. |
