It's been years since I purchased a wheel gun, and I recently became interested in the big bore variety. About a week ago I picked up a S&W 629 and yesterday I purchased a model 500 magnum. Now if I can only find decent prices on 500 mag ammo
It's amazing how small the 44 mag looks when compared to the 500 http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/46/dsc01652q.jpg yeah, i think you'll find that just passed the unicorn stables, but just before you get to that store that sells hens' teeth! i like big bore stuff too, and was looking a NEF handi-rifle in 500 smith one time...i did some number crunching, and costs on rolling my own was somewhere north of $2/round using any kind of reputable bullet. that was some time back, and things may have changed a little bit, but it was enough to talk me out of buying the NEF. |
