Not much help here but I've seen their services offered at a near by chef supply store.

I can't speak for the quality but last week I noticed a sign in the meat dept at the local Kroger offering FREE knife sharpening.

buy a spyderco sharpmaker and do it yourself. easy and it can do serrated knives.

i also have a wicked edge sharpener. easy to use but takes a while to set up and run. wicked edge can make a very sharp blade.

What did you get with that Wicked?  Accessories, etc?  And how much did it end up costing all together?

I am also looking at the Edge Pro, which is similar, but only one side at a time... AND costs more... at least that is how it seems, until you add accessories to the wicked....

i cant remember how much i paid but it was less than the cost on their web site. i ordered at the blade show in june and got it at the end of the summer. seller was doing demos at the blade show. wicked edge gets good reviews. i have the sharpmaker and have used it for years and its good for kitchen knives, but the wicked edge is better.

i got the 100/200, 400/600, 800/1000 stones and a pair of leather stropping things. i got the base too. everything i've read about wicked edge is positive.

i took it to my sister-in-laws christmas dinner and sharpened a few kitchen knives. like most folks i know, she had a bunch of knives and they were all dull as heck. i was able to put a very sharp edge on the few i worked on before we ate dinner.

growing up, i learned to sharpen on a stone, but i never did it enough to stay proficient. i like a good sharp knife and i like tools so i years ago i started looking for a system. i bought the spyderco and used it for years. its good enough for kitchen knives. the wicked edge is a big step up though.

i recommend googling and checking out various knife forums and see what they like to get some idea of what you end up purchasing.
