Hope that's a pre-move Mossberg.

There's a huge difference.

I tell folks to scour the shelves of pawn & gun shops for ported pre-Freedom Group and pre-move lever guns as opposed to newer ones.

Nice new stick either way but there are very significant differences in the above.

I don't know the date of manufacture, but it is North Haven and JM marked.

Love it. What's going on that rail?

Just look at this and see if yours will hold a card in-between the metal to wood fit. If so it's a post-move gun.

Hadn't decided yet..  Right now it's a toss up between a 1-4x, scout scope, or Aimpoint T-1.

You know my vote is with the aimpoint

But one of those scopes might be more practical.

Passed the business card test with flying colors.  Is there a way to date the rifle by serial number?

If its JM marked and New Haven marked you are GTG, nice stick. I have several of the older, vintage ones, but I'd love a new haven guide gun. That's a nice stick and you have several days left of deer season btw.

I love the big bores. I used to have an old .444. That thing would lay a deer down.
