Good evening HTF,
In ramping up my reloading efforts, I have been amassing the required equipment and literature and have been tumbling many batches of brass I have been saving for this, but need to buy powder/brass/bullets/primers. For the primers, I know they are light, but for powders and bullets, I wonder about the shipment value to weight/cost ratio and whether I wouldn't be better off sourcing locally. I tried searching for "reloading" in here, because I seem to remember this sort of thing coming up before, but couldn't find the thread I was thinking of. Is there a good place to go around here that carries bulk powder and bullets (maybe primers, too?) that would make more sense than ordering online and paying for shipping? At this point, I'm more focused on developing target/plinking and some hunting rounds, will get to precision later down the road, so I do not require the top-shelf shit yet, just your basic components. I'm basically benchmarking to industry standards here... what are yalls preferred sourcing strategies? Thanks! |

http://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com http://www.midwayusa.com Used to do Bruno's till they waited for four days to ship 500pcs of Lapua .308 brass AND JACK THE !@#$%^&*()_+ PRICE UP ON MY ASS. Georgia Arms' store front used to be terrific but I haven't been there in @ 5 years. |
| Not sure where you're located but around here(Cherokee Co) Hi-Caliber has a good selection of powders/bullets but ridiculously overpriced primers. Big Woods Goods has a very limited selection, Cherokee G&P has CCI primers for $29.99, and The Bargain Barn in Jasper has a pretty good selection of powder/bullets. HTH |
