Can you put change your buffer tube to a mill spec if your gun came with a comm. spec ?

Yes.

Though you may have to change your stock as well.

well, a commercial stock will fit a milspec tube, but it will be really loose. If you want to switch the tube, just unscrew it, and swap it out. I would suggest a milspec stock though just for tightness

You get the tube, I can switch it out for you no problem.

I can change it with no problem this pic made me wonder if you could swap them or not... Also do I need to get a new castle nut ?

No, you can use the same one. The tube dimensions are the only difference.

Echoing what everyone else has said, all hardware is the same. Locking plates, castle nuts, buffers, springs, etc. Tubes and stocks are the only difference. Hell, even a SLAP plate will fit both.

I would really like to know the history behind the commercial tube decision. Never made a lot of sense to me and made it a PIA to have to stock double the amount of stocks.

I think it was more profiteering by using inferior material. They had to make it thicker so it could be the same strength.

Actually when I changed my tube out, I got a new one at 400 J&L for I think $21, and I picked up a SLAP while I was there. Perfect fit.

You won't need to change anything, because that LMT sopmod stock is a fake.

Trust me, I have seen them.

I thought it was part of COLT's scrotumite thought processes
like "civilian version"  AR take down & pivot pins.

No, he does need a different tube, two different stocks would not work. I am not sure if Delton uses a Commercial or Mil but His is definitely larger than the standard mil spec. The B5 stock We tried was one I had already trimmed to make it slide easier on an LMT buffer tube.
Damn google is fast:
straight from Del-tons sight read the first review.
