So, it you register a lower as an SBR under a trust, you get the trust info engraved.  What do you have engraved if you through with the CLEO approval and have no trust?

If you're looking for a way to get around the engraving get 400 to get you a complete LMT SBR. They are registered at the factory. I say LMT because I know your upper is an LMT.

I went with a factory SBR lower and glad I did. dont have to worry about having the wrong depth or any of the hassle. best part was it was also only $50 more which was less than the $65 I was quoted to get it engraved :)

When I bought my lower, I didn't think I was going to go the SBR route.  It was more  an issue of wanting to do another build at some point and figured I'd go ahead and get the lower.  I really wish I would have had the forethought to get a factory SBR.

Where were you quoted for $65?  I'm trying to find a place that I feel comfortable to do the engraving.  I was thinking Orion Arms, but I'd like to get it done locally if I can.  I feel more comfortable doing it that way.

In my experience not really. There are a very few manufacturers out there that will but I honestly do not know about the legality of them registering a lower without an overall length and barrel length. I have no experience as a manufacturer.

My recommendation to you is to buy the whole SBR. Strip the upper off and sell it. That way you have a factory registered lower. Again, I know you already have an upper that you want to use.

for mine the did register it with length, caliber, barrel and such. they just shipped it stripped to me. I didn't buy anything but the lower from them.
