Got a diamond spectre on mine. It is not the lightest rail in the world but it works.

I use a low profile gas block with longer handguards on all of my carbines now.  I say go for it.

Apparently, the YHM rails are a little heavy, but I've never used them. I've only used Troy.

I have used about all of them. I have a YHM Diamond Spector on my SBR piston gun - it was the only one I could make fit. Love DD but +$. Mostly using Troy Extreme rails now - price is right when found on sale and I like the thin light weight and ease of install.

With anything that is 16" or longer (barrel, of course), then I always go with rifle length handguards.  The only carbine I've put together where I looked at anything less than rifle length was (is...waiting on tax stamp stuff...booo) my SBR.

The Troys are awesome.  I used the 13" VTAC Extreme on my other build and the Troy TRX Standard on this one.  Ridiculously easy to install, solid lock up, and I feel like I'm getting top-tier for under $200.  The LaRues and DDs are awesome, but I just can't bring myself to spend $300 on handguards when I'm a casual shooter.

Meh. there are better choices. if you want them, get them.

Here are some pictures of the Troy with an Adams Arm piston system and a SBR with the YHM Diamond Spector. The Troy is much smaller and fits the AA fine but never would fit the Osprey system. Actually dremeled the inside of the YHM some to get it round as it is slightly oval. Both work fine for what they are supposed to do.
The SBR weighs in about the same as the M4 due to accessories and barrel.

Like some others, I prefer the Troy Extreme rail.  Lightweight, easy to install and the company has much better reputations than YHM.  Funny, Bookhound and I were just talking about the YHM rail yesterday.

Nobody has yet to explain whats wrong with YHM?

I've never had a problem with them, nor heard friends complaining or people on here complaining?

I have one and never had any issues with it. I have only heard of one arfcommers issues when tensioning the

sling when shooting it started to spin on him. In my mind thats why God created Loctite.

I like it because when I get a big boy can, it will slip down inside of it.

The locking ring on mine came loose a few times but I put some removable loctite on there and now we are good to go.

Isn't there an Anti-rotation screw on the system?
