Anyone have the Dewey lug recess and chamber cleaning kit? Im thinking of picking one up, but was curious if its worth the 35 bucks.

I use a $6 chamber maid and chamber swabs. $35 is way high

not to completely derail this, but all I use is brake parts cleaner, blasts all the gunk right out. there are many opinions on this method, not gonna argue any of them. just throwing another option out there.
I also used to use a 12 ga brush to clean my chamber area where the lugs lock Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

I started using this a couple years ago and am happy with it for now. I'm all ears if someone has a different method that works well.

I start with a short blast of gun scrubber on the lug recess area, then use an AR 15 chamber brush. Follow it up w/ the Tipton tool and one of the chamber swabs in the slot to get all the gunk out. I just found a bag of the swabs I had forgotten about. You don't have to have them though, a rolled up large patch placed in the slot of the tool will work just as well. Needs some coaxing to get in, but once it's behind the lugs it'll spin enough to get all the gunk out. |
