Every time Saxby opens his mouth, he makes me wish we had a senator that understands limited govt.

http://politics.blogs.foxnews.com/2011/05/26/patriot-act-wont-expire-big-victory-freshman-republican

He is no lover of liberty. The problem with the whole gun ownership record provision in the PATRIOT Act is that, who gets to decide who the "terrorists" are?

Rand Paul has it right. Wish we had that caliber of senator here.

I lost the tiny bit of respect I had for Chambliss when he voted with the Dems to confirm Obama's appointment of Eric Holder.

Saxby needs to go...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One question. Who did you vote for when he ran for reelection?

I know I didn't in the regular election, and I didn't vote in the run off.

I agree with you TD, except I didn't have any since he had to be dragged kicking and screaming into voting against the immigration reform act of 2006.

I voted for him as the lesser of two evils much like I did when I voted for McCain.

True conservatives/libertarians have been forced to compromise at the ballot box far to long.

I can readily identify the problem however I do not have a feasible solution.

Do you..???

I had high hopes for Saxby as I prepared to meet him at one of his tour bus stops in '94.

He reminded me of a crooked used car lot dealer.

I was there standing next to him when he found out that he was having to go to a run off election in 08. The two other GA congress critters I was actually there with had also voted for Allen Buckley in that election. He was really one pissed off son of a bitch and really put on a major rant when the cameras weren't on him.

Like I said, I voted for Buckley in the general election and I refused to vote in the run off. If we ended up with that douche Martin then so be it. better to know ones enemy than to be stabbed in the back by one of our own. I didn't even cast a vote for Johnny boy this last time around either. I am so sick of these freakin rinos that I would almost rather have a dumbacrap in their place.

FYI...both of our senators voted for Holder as well as for all the bailouts and tarp and all the other crap that has been putting our economy farther and farther into the toilet.

Who has the $$$ to run against him in '12???

It's all about the money and Chambliss has plenty of financial backing due to his mostly middle of the road voting record.

He enjoys the best of both worlds campaigning as and pretending to be a Republican all the while voting with the Dems when he thinks no one is looking.

A candidate like that Chambliss is going to be well funded and hard to beat in an election.

I hate a SOB like myself that know the questions all the while being clueless to the answers.

I wish Herman Cain was not running for President because he would make a viable alternative to SC.

SC only cares about him self, his campaign war chest and getting reelected.
He exudes a sense of self entitlement and generally speaks and acts like snake oil salesman.
I particularly incensed by his choice to run his mouth about the SEAL's raid.
Shut the fuck up Saxby!

don't you think Herman will be out of the pres race by then?  wont he be able to go for senator then?  I really have no idea so this is an honest question.

i agree with you guys, i quit voting straight "R" tickets in 08, SC did not get my vote on the latest round either. voting compromise for decades has lead to these douchebags staying in office. people keep vote for republicans then complain when they support Eric Holder, and other lowly POS government entrusions. they do this because we have not held them accountable and just chalk up their being Rhinos as "silly politians", they are helping destroy this nation as fast as democrats, Dems only us the express lane.

look at the field of douchebags Fox news is trying to ram down our throats as front runners, i was asked in a phone survey last night about repub. presidential candidates, there was no choice of Herman Cain, i expressed that the list was incomplete and the guy wanted to argue with me. so only Newt and Palin, Romney are what we have as choices we will loose again as Americans in 2012, Washington does not give a damn about us and they prove it every election cycle with zero choices to vote for.

Mr. Cain will probably be out of the Presidential race fairly soon but if he wanted to challenge SC, he would have had to start raising $$$ for a TEA style party run a while ago. The GA Republican party would not support Cain challenging SC in the republican primary as too many Republicans think SC is good for GA.

If we want quality folks in office, we need to find them early and support them working their way up the party leader. That takes times and $$$. It is foolish to talk about Mr. Cain running for President with no elected experience and we do a disservice to folks like Mark Rubio and Allen West still in their first terms running for President.

Ironically it is the lack of conservative Democrats that hurts us because that means the Republicans don't have field folks with stronger conservative (non religious ones) values than potential Democratic challengers. More liberal democrats means we get stuck with more RINO's.

FWIW, Romney will win the  Republican nomination and loses the general election. I am not sure Romney will even beat PBO in Mass.

I thought saxby would change his tune after his last election, the people made it very clear they were unsatisfied with his gang of sux (six) and his rino tactics. He barely scraped (after a runoff) by in an election he was predicted to win by 90%.   I don't think he will survive in the polls the next election, I voted against him last time and will do so again.  It is better to know who your enemy is than to think he is your friend.

If you've never been to your local republican party meetings you should go.  Get involved and maybe even volunteer for a party office.  In a lot of counties outside major cities it's pretty easy to get elected county chairman, secretary, etc.... because most folks are to lazy and don't want to lend their time.  Hell some counties don't even have an active party apparatus.  It could be your chance to shape the organization to your way of thinking.

I guarantee you though, you will have your eyes opened and your heart troubled by what you learn when you start to go to state party functions.  It works like this.  Him what's got the gold makes the rules and him is never ever going to be you or anyone like you.  Before doing anything important you as a delegate will be herded into a room with all the other delegates and pretty much be told how to vote, or else.  The else is your county district, etc... won't get any gravy from the train until they decide you have suffered enough for your lack of faith in the party's will.

The Tea Party movement is the only thing that has any chance what so ever of changing that paradigm and it has been co-opted and most of the supporters have gone back to sleep.

Your answer may be Erick Erickson. He has talked about a run for the Senate. Frankly, I'd pull the trigger on that vote, dig up my grandparents and have them do it too. I made the mistake of voting for both Chambliss and Issakson the past elections, not again.

In about the last 5 years about the only candidate that I have voted FOR is Paul Broun. Pretty much every other vote that I have made has been AGAINST a bleeding heart liberal.

When will the Republicans find us some more candidates to vote FOR????

i agree with Paul Broun being one of the only good guys left, i have reached out to the "young republicans" here in the Augusta area, they are just like and the others, all talk. my ideas are always to "radical" for the soft hearted and easily led, so no, they don't listen to me. i feel like i'm in a boat all by myself when i comes to politics

You're not... its just a matter of finding like minded individuals. There's a weak tea party movement in Augusta largely due to the messengers. There's a way around them I think.

If this violates the house rules feel free to cut it Book but I encourage all of y'all to visit Freedom Connector by FreedomWorks. They are on the record about opposing Romney and a few others. But you can call this "Facebook for Conservatives". Granted there's no vetting process but the one you make with the people you connect on there. It breaks you down by your Congressional district and county so you know who is local and who is not. If you're interested in linking up there, drop a DM for my name.

Frankly, we need to be connected. If you're serious about defeating the status quo GOP mush that will be force fed on us and the Democrat Party's latest socialist then we have to organize now. There's strength in numbers and cash.

Specially for the Augusta (and near by) group I am the chapter President of a group. I'll withhold the website because I have a vested interest but DM me and I'll let you know more about us and who we are. Suffice to say we're the 2nd largest (only to Texas) State Chapter when it comes to national numbers and we're in a membership push. I believe there's enough pissed off Georgians who feel the same way we do to push us past Texas. Our State Chapter leadership is very much in touch with the current State Congressional delegation and State leadership... so we have an ability to let them know what a rather vocal and funded group is thinking.
